Thus it is. And in the treatises it is also said: The agent depends on the action, and the action also depends on the agent itself to arise, apart from that, the cause of establishment is not seen. Likewise, one should understand the proximate cause, in order to eliminate action and agent. Through the agent and the actions, one should understand the remaining things. Only this much is said. Thus, when dependent arising is explained by merely this condition, not only do thoughts such as arising from no cause not occur, but also other thoughts such as permanence and annihilation, permanence and impermanence, existence and non-existence, etc., are impossible. It is explained to show this. Because things arise dependently, it is not possible to examine the understanding itself. Therefore, this reasoning of dependent arising cuts off all nets of wrong views. Because by the reasoning of "this arises because of this," only by this much, conventional things can obtain my things, and not otherwise, therefore, the reasoning of dependent arising, merely by this condition, can cut off all the nets of evil views as described above. Thus, by establishing only this condition as the meaning of dependent arising, no things admit self-nature. It is said thus: That which arises depending on this and that, that is not born as its own nature. What is not born as its own nature, how is it said to be born? Likewise: Whatever is dependent arising, that is said to be emptiness. That is a designation with causes, that is the Middle Way. Thus it is said. In the Sutra Pitaka it is also said: That which is born from conditions is unborn. It does not have the nature of birth. Whatever depends on conditions is said to be empty. Whoever knows emptiness is mindful. Thus it is said. When one does not admit self-nature in this way, then when there is no self-nature, how will all that has been said arise? If there is some self-nature, then at that time, birth will also arise from self-nature, or from self and other, or from both, or from Ishvara, etc.

Is the field of transformation. If the arising of the thought of permanence due to the abiding of what has already arisen, and the arising of annihilation, etc., due to destruction is possible, then it is not another situation, and it is said to show this reason: All thoughts change in the mind of things, how things do not exist has been completely observed. Without things, these will not arise, just as there is no fire without firewood. Because of the reason mentioned above, the existence of things in any way is not true, therefore, the yogi manifests the holy path, and those who see the reality in a way that does not see, do not see even a particle of things in any dharma. Thoughts such as form, feeling, good, non-good, things and non-things, etc., the aggregates of actions that have been practiced from the beginningless also change from these. For example, after applying eye medicine, the thought of distinguishing hair, etc. changes, and it will become a fruit for those with cataracts, but hair, etc. will not be transformed into other self-nature realms. Therefore, ordinary people are bound by discriminating thoughts, and yogis without discrimination will be liberated. What is the transformation of discriminating thoughts? The wise say it is the fruit of discernment. Because ordinary people do not understand this dharma nature, they are bound by discriminating thoughts. When this dharma nature is understood, the saints will be liberated. Therefore, completely stopping discriminating thoughts is the fruit of discernment mentioned by the teacher in the "Madhyamaka-karika". As it is said: If things exist by their own nature, what merit is there in seeing emptiness? What is seen by discriminating thoughts is bondage, and this is what is prohibited here. It is said like this. Therefore, in the scriptures, because of being attached to debate, it was not created, and it was said for the sake of benefit. Therefore, it should be known that the teacher made great distinctions in the "Madhyamaka-karika", because he was attached to debate and wanted to overwhelm others, so he did not create it. When there is no distinction, the "Madhyamaka-karika" shows the reality, which is sentient beings.
