It should be done. Grasping and the grasped, since they lack inherent existence unless controlled by other powers, one should consider the complete establishment of these two on other powers. Enough with elaboration. The main text should be explained. Therefore, having refuted arising from others in this way, now, wishing to refute arising from both, it is said: Arising from both is also not reasonable, why? Because, the faults already stated will all fall upon it. Among them, those who speak of two important terms think that arising changes from oneself and also changes from others, therefore it arises from both. Among them, if it is thought that a pot arises from a lump of clay for mixing, a stick, a wheel, a rope, water, and a potter, etc., then because the lump of clay and the pot are not different, the pot exists only in the nature of the lump of clay, therefore it also arises from oneself. And because the actions of the potter, etc., which have become different, are the cause of this arising, therefore, it also arises from others, thus considering arising from oneself and others. Just as the nature of external self, the internal phenomena also change from self and others. Among them, life and non-life, merit and demerit, outflows and vows, etc., the nine meanings of terms, are just those, having made the establishment of the meanings of terms in this way, because Maitreya exists only in the nature of life in other lifetimes as well, therefore he takes this birth, therefore it arises from oneself, because Maitreya and life are not different. Life, because it possesses movement, is also considered to circulate in the movements of other gods, etc. And because it arises from father and mother and dharma and non-dharma and outflows, etc., which have become different, therefore it also arises from others. Therefore, saying that it does not arise from oneself and does not arise from others, this does not harm us, because we have not accepted that it arises only from oneself, nor have we accepted that it arises only from others. This dispute is also said to be unreasonable. Arising from both is also not reasonable, why? Because, the faults already stated will all fall upon it.

Therefore. Because the faults shown to both sides also apply to these two sides, it is impossible to arise from both. Because the pot exists in the nature of being made, it is not produced, because it exists. As it is said: If it arises from that, then there is no merit, and what has already arisen should not arise again. And so on. Similarly, because it abides only in the nature of life, it should be understood that there is no arising for love either. Because the pot does not abide in the nature of water, thread, wheel, etc., it is not produced from them, as it is said: If another arises dependent on another, then thick darkness should also arise from the flame, and everything should arise from everything, because, not being a producer, it is the same for everything. And so on, it has already been said. It should also be said that love arises from the father and mother, etc., who have become others. Therefore, as mentioned above, arising from self and other is unreasonable in both conventional and ultimate truth. For speaking two important words, it is also impossible by the reason mentioned above. In order to conclude what was said before, it is said: This is not the world, nor is it allowed in that. It is said that not only is it unreasonable for the two sects to arise from both, as the reason mentioned earlier, but it is also shown by the reason mentioned here. Because it is impossible to arise from each one. For example, one sesame seed cannot produce oil, but many sesame seeds can. Just as oil cannot be extracted from powerless sand, if each one can produce, then many things with such a nature can also produce. Therefore, it is also unreasonable to arise from both. Here, the essentialists say: If arising is from a cause, then the cause becomes the nature of the effect, or becomes another, or becomes both, so there are those faults.

English
If it were to become so, since I have not admitted the cause, there is no opportunity for the fault that has been spoken of. Therefore, the arising of things is only from their own nature. For example, the water of a lotus and the roughness of its petals and its smoothness, it is not seen that they are made by someone restraining them. The various colors and shapes of its petals and stamens and lotus pods are also not seen to be made. Similarly, various things such as pineapples and Nepali apples are also like that. Just as it is with external things, so too with internal self-natured beings such as peacocks and partridges and crows, it is not observed that someone strives to grasp them and arrange their colors and shapes, etc. Therefore, the arising of things is only from their own nature, so it is said. To this it should be said: If one were to think that things arise only without a cause, then everything would always arise from everything. In order to produce fruit, this world would not gather seeds, etc., through hundreds and thousands of ways. If the arising of things were sudden, then just as the pineapple tree is not the cause of its fruit, so too all things such as neem and mango would also be its cause, and therefore they would also arise from them, because being a non-cause is the same. Also, just as the pineapple fruit arises from its tree as a cause, so too it would arise from the three realms. Furthermore, the arising of the ripening of mangoes and cashews, etc., which depends on the season and sometimes appears, would always be present in them, because it does not depend on the season. Similarly, the peacock is the cause of the collection of peacock feathers, therefore the crow would also have a collection of feathers. The peacock would also have parrot feathers at all times, even in the embryonic stage. If all sentient beings were always arising, then that would not even be existent, therefore it should not be said to be self-nature. Having thus spoken of what contradicts reason, in order to speak of what contradicts what is seen
