Nano. In another way, those are also not Buddhists, because they have not fully understood the meaning of what the heretics proclaim. Therefore, this which must be relied upon is universally applicable. As it is said: To those who speak of persons and aggregates, the worldly Samkhyas, the Owl-sons, and the naked ones, if there is a question, ask them about existence, non-existence, and transcendence. Therefore, the Buddhas', teachings are immortal, beyond existence and non-existence, what is said to be profound is, the essence of the Dharma, so it is said. Thus it is said. Those who are manifestly attached to the aggregates and so on should be known as outsiders. How "one's own" means the meaning of one's own established tenets. Therefore, it is also nearly shown that the heretics consider the aggregates and so on to be the agents, because samsara is without beginning, what thought has not arisen here, and what will not arise? Thus, even now, white-clad people and others appear to proclaim the aggregates and so on. The Blessed One, not seeing persons and so on as agents, taught that only mind is the agent of the world, this is the meaning of the sutra. Thus, for the time being, having blocked the other agent, since the meaning has been accomplished, it is said that the word "only" cannot block the knowable. From explaining in other ways, it is also shown that it is impossible to block the outsiders, therefore it is said: That which is expanded is called Buddha, similarly, in the world where only mind is the main thing. In the sutra, it is said that only mind, this form, to block it, is not the meaning of the sutra. Just as there is an explanation of that which is expanded into Suchness being called Buddha, with the previous word hidden, similarly, in that where only mind is the main thing, also blocking the other as the main thing, it should be known that the three realms are only mind. Therefore, this shows that it eliminates the mainness of form and so on, but it does not say that there is only mind and no form, it does not block existence itself. The meaning of this sutra should undoubtedly be understood as we have said. According to your view.

If, knowing these to be merely mind, you then refute the nature of form, why did the Great Lord again say that mind is born from the karma of ignorance? In the Holy Ten Bhumi Sutra, it is said that consciousness has ignorance and action as its cause, but it is not established by its own nature. If consciousness were established by its own nature, then it would not depend on ignorance or action; since it is dependent, it is clear that consciousness is not self-existent. Therefore, in every way, consciousness is not inherently existent; like the hair seen by someone with cataracts, it exists when there is a cause of inversion, and it does not exist when there is no cause of inversion. Thus he thinks. As it is said, thus the Bodhisattva arises according to the proper manner and is skilled in understanding dependent origination. He thinks thus: not understanding the truths is, in ultimate truth, ignorance. The ripening of the karma done by ignorance is actions. The first mind that depends on actions is consciousness. The four aggregates of grasping that arise simultaneously with consciousness are name and form. The increase of name and form is the six sense bases. The contaminated dharma that arises from the union of the three—sense faculty, object, and consciousness—is contact. That which arises simultaneously with contact is feeling. Attachment to feeling is craving. The increase of craving is grasping. The contaminated karma that arises from grasping is existence. The similar cause of karma is birth, that is, the arising of the aggregates. The maturation of the aggregates is aging. The decaying aggregate of aging is death. At the time of death and separation, the extreme suffering of the mind due to delusion and attachment is sorrow. That which arises from sorrow and is expressed in words is lamentation. That which is experienced by the five senses is suffering. That which is experienced by the mind's view is discomfort. The great arising of suffering and discomfort is turmoil. Thus, the aggregate of suffering, the tree of suffering, without an agent or experiencer, will be manifestly accomplished. Among these, ignorance is the action.

It is close to two, that is, sentient beings are also completely confused about the object, and also produce the cause that makes actions manifest. Actions are also close to two, that is, they can also make future ripening manifest, and also produce the cause that makes consciousness manifest. Consciousness is also close to two, that is, it can also connect the nature of existence, and also produce the cause that makes name and form manifest. Name and form are also close to two, that is, they can also depend on each other, and also produce the cause that makes the six sense sources manifest. The six sense sources are also close to two, that is, they can also show their respective objects, and also produce the cause that makes contact manifest. Contact is also close to two, that is, it can also touch the object, and also produce the cause that makes feeling manifest.
