If it is thought that the mind's consciousness arises, and that it exists only in dreams due to sleep, and not in the waking state, that is also unreasonable. Why is that? If, like you, the sixth consciousness in dreams, its capacity matures but disappears in the waking state, then how can the maturity of the sixth consciousness not exist here? Since this is the case, why can't it be said that dreams also do not exist? The sixth consciousness refers to the mind's consciousness. If it is thought that the capacity of that kind of mind's consciousness matures in dreams merely because of the way words are expressed, but not in the waking state, then according to our statement, it should also be thought that the maturity of that kind of consciousness does not exist in the waking state, and does not exist in dreams either. Just as not having eyes is not the cause of this blind person, it can also be said that sleep is not the cause in dreams. The appearance of dreams is like a blind person in the waking state, because the support of consciousness, the senses, are separated from their function. Consciousness follows the form that relies on the sense organ of the eye, which is named the capacity, and the complete transformation of the maturity of the mind's consciousness is not the mind's consciousness. Therefore, just as not having eyes is not the cause of a blind person in the waking state, sleep is also not the cause of the complete maturation of the habits of consciousness in dreams. Because it is so, therefore in dreams also, that real eye should be acknowledged as the cause of the awareness of false objects. Therefore, in dreams also, that kind of object consciousness, and that kind of form that has become the support of eye consciousness, should be acknowledged. Therefore, if that is the case, whatever answers are given with this, they are seen to be the same as the vows, thereby eliminating this dispute. The three of the waking state are empty in nature, because they are objects of perception, so it is a dream, this is what is to be shown. The opponent thinks that the waking consciousness is empty in meaning, because it is consciousness, just like the consciousness in dreams. And, the object of perception in the waking state is of a false nature,

Because it is a place, it is like the place of a dream. Similarly, all defilements and complete purification, if not dominated by others, will not exist, because there is no basis, just like a garment of tortoise hair is proclaimed. Similarly, it should also be explained with the example of eye disease. In this way, etc., if any answer given by this Vijnanavada is seen by wise Madhyamikas as the same as their own vows, then this debate is to refute the Vijnanavada. Similarly, the fault of scriptural harm, etc., is also impossible, because the Buddhas have never said that things exist at any time. As the scripture says: The three realms are only imputed, and there are no things in their own nature. Those who falsely discriminate will cling to imputation as the nature of things. If there is no self-nature, there is no Vijnana, no Alaya, and no real thing, then the bad children who falsely discriminate, observe these like corpses. It is said like this. It is also unreasonable to say that things do not exist because of the emptiness of one without the other, because the sutra says that the great wise ones, the emptiness of one without the other is the worst of all emptinesses. It is also unreasonable to say that a cow is not a horse, so it does not exist, it should be said that it exists by its own nature, etc. Similarly, the Bhagavats enter the senses, thereby entering the Dharma realm, which is the twenty-two senses, namely the eye sense, the ear sense, the nose sense, the tongue sense, the body sense, the mind sense, the female sense, the male sense, the life sense, the pleasure sense, the pain sense, the mental pleasure sense, the mental displeasure sense, the equanimity sense, the faith sense, the diligence sense, the mindfulness sense, the concentration sense, the wisdom sense, the unknown to be known sense, the known sense, and the known and fully known sense. Among them, the eye sense is not in the past, present, or future.
