If there is no inherent existence, then, like a barren woman's son, there is no ability, and its arising does not occur. This also explains that fruits and so on are the same. Furthermore, consciousness and ability depend on each other and change, although they need to rely on each other, but even so, it is not the nature of other-power. Like this: The establishment of mutual dependence on meaning, the noble ones say that it is not established. If consciousness exists, then that is its ability, and consciousness arises from that, in this way it becomes mutually dependent on meaning. If it changes like that, it will become that consciousness is not inherently existent. For example, if long exists, it will become short, and if short exists, it will become long, and if the other shore exists, it will become this shore, and if this shore exists, it will become the other shore, it will become imputed, and those do not have inherent establishment. If that is the case, then it will become following our words. As it is said in the Four Hundred Verses: Without fruit, the cause of the cause does not exist, therefore all fruits, will become the nature of the cause. It is also said in the scriptures: If things are established by dependence, and also depend on that, what is depended on is established, depending on what, what is established? The meaning of this is: If things, such as consciousness, are established depending on the difference of ability, and also depend on that, in order for consciousness itself to be established, if the difference of the thing that is depended on, the ability, is established, then these two things to be established, it must be said depending on what, what is established. Furthermore, what is the thing that is established by dependence, if that is not established, how does it depend? If it is established by dependence, then it should not depend. The scriptures say so. The meaning of this is also: If consciousness is established depending on ability, is that established or not established that it depends on ability? If it is not established, then because it is not established, like a donkey's horn, it does not depend on ability. But if it depends on being established, then because it is established, it should not depend.

Oṃ. Thus, the establishment that depends on each other is not an establishment, the wise ones have said. Therefore, the future also does not have the ability. Now, in order to show that the past also does not have the ability, it is said: If it transforms from the non-existence of the ceased ability, then other will arise from the ability of other. If the consciousness that arises and is ceasing establishes the difference of ability on the ālaya-vijñāna for the sake of the fruit, and the consciousness arises from the maturation of the ceased ability of consciousness, then at that time other will arise from the ability of other. Why? Because, the permanent ones exist there mutually distinct. Like the word "ta nu ni rgyas pa la'o," because of continuity, it is permanent, like the continuity of a river, constantly continuous, the norm, when cause and effect are connected and proceed, birth and death are continuous, existing in an uninterrupted sequence, it is the close object of the momentary three times of the saṃskāra. Because the momentary parts of the permanent substance exist, the momentary parts of the permanent substance are called permanent ones. Those mutually, that is, distinct from other others, and the other itself is also acknowledged by the other. Therefore, the moment of the fruit has the cause of habit, and when it arises later, because it can make the moment of the cause establish habit, the other itself exists. In this way, other will arise from the ability of other. If one thinks that this is not a fault because it is desired, then it is not so, if one thinks so, it will become that everything arises from everything. It is said, "Therefore, everything will arise from everything," that is, because it has already been said to prevent arising from other, it will not be repeated again. Here it is said: If the permanent ones are distinct there, but for those the permanent is not distinct, therefore there is no fault, if it is said again that the momentary permanent ones of matter are mutually the other itself, even so, because this permanent is one, it will not become that everything arises from everything, if that is the case, then will it become faultless at that time? This itself does not
