Or, just as a sprout can be grasped, so too should the seed be graspable like the very nature of the sprout, because they are no different from the sprout and so on. Those who wish to completely avoid faults should also not accept that seeds and sprouts are no different. Therefore, in order to show that the idea of self-origination, which is examined in other ways by those who wish to understand it in this way, and even in the worldly terms of those whose minds have not been trained in other ways, is also unreasonable, it is said: Because wherever a cause ceases, its effect is seen, the world also does not accept that those are one. Like this, because the cause called seed has ceased, but the effect called sprout is seen. The world also does not see seeds and sprouts as being no different, for if they were one, then just as the cause is not seen, so too the effect should not be seen, but it is seen, therefore they are not no different. Because in either way, self-origination contradicts reason. Therefore, this thoroughly considered idea that things arise from themselves is not reasonable either in reality or in the world. Therefore, the teacher, without making any distinction, generally refuted self-origination by saying 'not from self.' If someone distinguishes by saying that things are not truly born from themselves, because they exist, like sentient beings, then that distinction of 'truly' is meaningless, one should think. Furthermore, if one thinks that it arises from itself, then the object to be produced and the producer, and the action and the agent, would become one; if those are not one, then admitting that it arises from itself would be unreasonable because of the faults that are extensively explained. As it is said: Cause and effect, if they are one, will never be reasonable. If cause and effect are one, then arising and causing to arise will become one. Thus it is said. Oneness is not existent, because father and son, or eye and consciousness, would also become one. Therefore, if wood is fire, then the agent and the action would become one.

Thus it was said. Therefore, in order to avoid falling into such faults, and wishing to realize the two truths without error, one should not assert that things arise from themselves. Here, the statement "things do not arise from themselves" is certain, and this view itself is also reasonable. Because if one says like this: "How can one see from other things?" This is unreasonable. Thus, relying on the four other-dependent conditions, namely the causal condition, the objective condition, the immediately preceding condition, and the dominant condition, the conditions are what cause the arising of things, and even if unwilling, one should acknowledge that they arise from otherness. Some say that the causal condition is the five causes other than the agent cause. If it is taken as an object, then that is the objective condition, that is, the object of the six consciousnesses, all dharmas are the objective condition. The mind and mental factors other than the mind that enters into nirvana without remainder, are the immediately preceding condition. The agent cause is the dominant condition. Others say that the accomplisher is the cause, and from this definition, whatever produces something and exists in the form of a seed, that is its causal condition. Just as an old man rises, the mind and mental factors arise from the cause, similar to a support, what is produced by it is the objective condition, meaning the support of the dharma that is arising. What arises immediately after the cessation of the cause is the condition for the arising of the result, for example, what arises immediately after the cessation of the seed, similar to a sprout, this is not the immediately preceding condition. If something exists, something arises, that is its dominant condition. Furthermore, other conditions that arise simultaneously and conditions that arise later, etc., are also included in these. Ishvara and others are not conditions, therefore, the fifth condition does not exist, they firmly believe in this way. This cannot be established, because it contradicts reason and scripture. Among these, from the perspective of reason, if it exists dependent on others
