This mindfulness and wisdom are inconceivable and incomparable, immeasurable and boundless, and its limit is not easy to show. The Tathagata, who has become the chief of all Buddhas, says to those beings: 'Hey, beings, whether you have planted roots of virtue in the Buddha, the Hearer, or the Solitary Buddha, remember them.' Thus he makes them remember. This is because, by the power of the Buddha, those beings can also remember. The Tathagata teaches them the Dharma related to the roots of virtue, so that they can attain liberation through it and never regress. This is like what is said, this is the eighth Tathagata-activity of the Tathagata. Now, it will be explained according to the power of knowing death and birth: The death and birth of each of the beings, and whatever exists in the world up to the edge of the sky, with wisdom entering into those many manifestations at that time, without attachment, all aspects pure, boundless, is considered as power. Death is the destruction of the aggregates, and birth is the continuous connection of the aggregates. All the deaths and births of the world touch the edge of the realm of space, whatever is made by extremely diverse actions, the Bhagavan knows them in a single moment as they truly are, effortlessly. His wisdom has no attachment to any object, because all aspects are completely pure, so there is no obstruction. This is considered as the power of the Bhagavan knowing death and birth. The Bhagavan not only knows the death and birth of beings, but also completely knows all the many things such as formation and destruction with the divine eye, without omission. As it is said: The divine eye of the Tathagata is like this: with that eye, he can see the ten directions of the world, pervaded by the realm of Dharma, up to the edge of the realm of space, in those immeasurable, countless, beyond counting Buddha-fields, wherever a pure land appears, and where beings are accepted, he can see destruction and formation.

Among them, for some who appear as sentient beings, all of their deaths, transmigrations, births, happy migrations, unhappy migrations, and approaching according to their karma are seen. For some who appear as Bodhisattvas, all of their deaths, transmigrations, entering the womb, and appearances are seen. For some who appear as Buddhas, their manifest complete enlightenment, turning the wheel of Dharma, abandoning the activities of life, and completely entering into Nirvana are all seen. For some who appear as Shravakas, their complete liberation and complete entry into Nirvana are all seen. For some who appear as Pratyekabuddhas, their displaying of miracles and practicing of merits are all seen. All sentient beings who have appeared, and those who have appeared in the sight of the five superknowledges of outsiders, and those who are not of the Shravakas, and those who are not of the Pratyekabuddhas, and those who are not of the Bodhisattvas, all of these will also appear to the Tathagata's divine eye. Moreover, those sentient beings who have not appeared in the direction of the chariot wheel's spoke, but who have appeared to the Tathagata, are very many. The gods and humans of the three thousand great thousand world realms are not like that. Similarly, the realm of sentient beings who have not appeared is immeasurable. Thus, the Tathagata, with his divine eye, observes the realm of sentient beings in all Buddha-fields, observing which sentient beings are to be tamed by the Buddha. In front of as many classes of sentient beings as are to be tamed by the Buddha, that many Tathagatas reside and tame those sentient beings, but other sentient beings who are not to be tamed do not know this, just as it is said, "This is the ninth deed of the Tathagata." Now, speaking from the perspective of the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements: With the power of all-knowing wisdom, quickly, the Buddhas' afflictions and habitual tendencies are destroyed together, and also the disciples and others who obstruct afflictions with their minds, for this, unobstructed and boundless wisdom is considered power. Among these, afflictions are ignorance and desire, etc., because they cause the three realms to be afflicted. They defile the mind-stream and block
