And, liberation, and, samadhi, and, equanimity, and, all afflictions, and, the arising of purification, are established as the power of knowing. As it is said, son of lineage, again, the Tathagata, with meditation, and, liberation, and, samadhi, and, equanimity, and, all afflictions, and, the arising of purification, knows all knowledge completely as it is. How does he completely know? The Tathagata completely knows what is the cause and what is the condition for the arising of all afflictions of sentient beings. The Tathagata also completely knows what is the cause and what is the condition for the purification of sentient beings. What is the cause and what is the condition? The cause of all afflictions of sentient beings is improper attention. The condition of all afflictions of sentient beings is ignorance. Ignorance is the cause. Actions are the condition. Actions are the cause. Consciousness is the condition, and so on. Afflictions are the cause. Actions are the condition. Views are the cause. Desire is the condition. Latent tendencies are the cause. All arising is the condition, up to this point. What is the cause and what is the condition for the purification of sentient beings? Two causes and two conditions. What are the two? The sound that conforms to others, and individual proper attention. There are also two: single-pointedness in tranquility and skillfulness in insight, which are extensively explained. This is the cause of purification for sentient beings. This is the condition, and the Tathagata also completely knows it. Similarly, son of lineage, the Tathagata, endowed with wisdom, is separated from all desires. Separated from sinful and unwholesome dharmas. With conceptualization, with analysis. Having entered the first dhyana, which has joy and bliss born of separation, he arises from cessation. Having entered cessation, he arises from the first dhyana. He also enters the eight liberations in accordance with the proper order. Improper and confused.

Also. Samadhi shows entering into equipoise. Equipoise shows entering into samadhi, but the Tathagata's samadhi has no mixture whatsoever. For the Tathagata, there is no need to enter samadhi through focus. One samadhi of the Tathagata accomplishes all samadhis. The Tathagata, without arising from one samadhi, enters into all samadhis, yet the Tathagata does not enter from one mind to another. In the Tathagata, a mind not equally placed is not perceived. The samadhi of the Tathagata cannot be seen by anyone. The samadhi of the Hearers is overcome by the samadhi of the Solitary Buddhas. The samadhi of the Solitary Buddhas is overcome by the samadhi of the Bodhisattvas. The samadhi of the Bodhisattvas is overcome by the samadhi of the Tathagata. The samadhi of the Tathagata is not overcome, because the wisdom of the Tathagata enters without being overcome. Through whatever teachings and subsequent teachings the Hearers generate samadhi, the Tathagata fully knows. By what means the Solitary Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas generate samadhi, the Tathagata also fully knows. Having known, he also teaches accordingly, and subsequently teaches accordingly, this is like the seventh deed of the Tathagata of the Tathagata. Now, explaining based on the power of the knowledge of remembering previous existences: As long as ignorance exists, so long does existence in samsara exist, surpassing self. The existence of each sentient being, as many sentient beings as there are, so many are the limitless, based places and directions, and whatever wisdom of all these is said to be power. As long as ignorance exists, this explains the object itself of the knowledge of remembering previous existences, which is the beginningless transmission from one life to another. As many sentient beings as there are, this explains the collection of the limitless realm of sentient beings. Mentioning 'based' indicates that it is with causes.

Gathering from there It is explained. In such and such a place, my color became like this, my form became like that, and so on, as it is in the sutra. Among them, remembering that the color became like this, one will remember including the form. In such and such a place I lived, from there after death I was reborn in such and such a place, from there after death I was reborn here, remembering thus one will remember including the place and direction. The rest is remembering including the cause. Thus, regarding the past existence, including the basis, including the place and direction, including the form, the wisdom of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, has no obstruction, this is the power of the wisdom of remembering past abodes. With this power, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, can truly understand all the past flow of mind and mental factors, and by knowing the reason for having affinity and not having affinity, they show the Dharma that has fruition, thus establishing it. As it is said: He remembers the past abode of that sentient being. How was the past cause, and by what cause did all sentient beings appear? The Tathagata fully knows that past cause, and after knowing it, he also teaches the Dharma in the same way. The Tathagata fully knows the past flow of mind of all sentient beings. With what mind does a mind with an object arise under the object, with what object does it arise, and when separated from what object does it cease? The Tathagata also fully knows. Thus, to the extent that the mind of one sentient being passes from one to another and enters, under such a one, such a mind arises, and after that, such a mind arises again, even if one were to speak for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, it would be difficult to explain. Similarly, the respective minds of all sentient beings pass from one to another, the Tathagata fully knows. Even if one grasps the complete observation and shows it to the final limit, its wisdom will not be exhausted. The Tathagata's remembrance of past abodes
