The self-related things of the five aggregates also become extremely difficult to perceive. Just as when a chariot is burned, its parts are also burned and cannot be perceived, so too, when yogis realize the selflessness of the self, at that very moment, they will surely realize that the self-related things of the aggregates are also selfless. As it is said: The aggregates arising from self-grasping, that self-grasping is actually false. If its seed is false, how can its arising be true? Having seen that the aggregates are not true in that way, one will abandon self-grasping. Having abandoned self-grasping, later the aggregates will not arise. Thus it is said. Just as the sun in the last month of summer, in harmony, presses down on the sphere of the sky devoid of clouds, and its slightly tilted rays resemble a great fire of extremely bright sparks, the earth's sphere becomes extremely rough, scorching, relying on those who undertake it, and encountering extremely rough places on the earth. Due to inverted perception, relying on mirages that resemble water, due to their appearance, for those who dwell in distant places, a cognition arises, like the form of extremely clear water, but not for those who are close to it. Similarly, here too, due to having the inverted perception of ignorance, for each sentient being, how the self and self-related things exist, for those who are far away from seeing it, it appears to be true, the false meaning of clinging to the self and aggregates as true, does not appear to those who see the reality of things and are close to it. As it is said: Forms seen from afar, are clearly seen by those who are near. If a mirage were water, why would those who are near not see it? How those who are far away, see this world as true, likewise those who are near to it, do not see the signless like a mirage. Just as a mirage resembles water, it is neither water nor in a pit, likewise the aggregates resemble a self, but they are not a self and are not real. Thus it is said. Because the self and self-related things are not perceived, therefore the yogi who is close to not seeing the ultimate truth will surely: For the sake of the peace of the self and self-related things, the grasping of "I" and "mine" will no longer exist. The one who benefits the self is the self.

is, meaning "my five aggregates." I, that is, the object of clinging to self, and the object of clinging to mine, my aggregates, etc., are pacified because they are unborn and unattainable, so the yogi becomes free from clinging to self and clinging to mine. If someone says, isn't the yogi who is free from clinging to self and clinging to mine, for the time being, existent? If it exists, then are the self and the aggregates also established? It is not so, because of what? Whatever is without clinging to self and clinging to mine, that is also non-existent. Without clinging to self and clinging to mine, who can see, therefore it is not seen. The self and the aggregates are in every way unattainable, it is their own nature. Who can find other different things from those things that are without clinging to self and clinging to mine? Who can see the nature of such non-existence, without clinging to self and clinging to mine? Know that it is not seeing Suchness. As it is said, the Blessed One said: Look at the emptiness of the inner self, look at the emptiness of the outer transformed as well, whoever meditates on emptiness, that also does not exist. Similarly, whoever thinks of the peaceful and extremely peaceful Dharma, those children enter the wrong path, all Dharmas are empty and without letters, those without letters are shown with letters. Whoever thinks of the peaceful and extremely peaceful Dharma, that thought also never arises, all elaborations are the mind's discrimination, therefore all Dharmas should be known as inconceivable. Similarly, the nature of the aggregates is solitary and emptiness, the nature of enlightenment is solitary and emptiness, what is practiced is also emptiness in nature, the wise know but the children do not know. Therefore, thus, in the inner and outer, when the thought of self and mine is exhausted, then grasping also ceases, and when that ceases, birth also ceases. All afflictions are rooted in the view of the perishable aggregate, the view of the perishable aggregate is the cause of arising, the view of the perishable aggregate is the cause, as it is said in the Sutra. The view of the perishable aggregate is also abandoned by not seeing the self and mine, and by abandoning this view also
