If there is no contact, then views and so on also do not exist, which is established. Here it is said: Even if there is no contact, the one who is contacting, the contact, and the one who contacts do not exist, because there is no prohibition of these. The one who is contacting, the contact, and the one who contacts also do not exist without contact, therefore contact should also exist. It should be said: This is also unreasonable, because when it is shown that there is no contact at any time, how can there be one who is contacting and so on without contact? Among them, the one who is contacting is the instrument that is now engaged in the act of contacting. Contact is the act of contacting that has been completed. The one who contacts is the agent who independently performs the action to completion. Therefore, here, because there is no contact, the one who is contacting and so on are not seen, and in order to conclude the negation of them, (the scripture says:) "The one who is contacting and the contact, the one who contacts also does not exist." Thus it was said. Therefore, the Blessed One also said: "If the eye is present, it will see everything; the eye sees various forms, but if there are no conditions at night, it will not be able to see. Therefore, presence and absence are both conceptualizations. The eye relies on light and sees various forms that are pleasing and unpleasing, thus seeing by relying on presence, therefore the eye never sees. Those who know this dharma of no self-nature, those heroes will transcend the suffering of the world. Enjoying the qualities of desire, without attachment, abandoning attachments, they tame sentient beings. Here there are no sentient beings, and no life, but the rulers benefit sentient beings. Even though there are no sentient beings, they accomplish benefits, the benefit of those people is difficult." From there, up to "There is never any attachment there. Those who have faith in this dharma-nature, their minds will not be attached to samsara." And similarly, "Whoever cultivates the path, understands that all dharmas are emptiness, generates the wisdom of no-self, if they cultivate these dharmas, their courage will become unimpeded." And so on. In the Clear Words by the teacher Chandrakirti, the Examination of Contact ends.

This is a commentary on the fourteenth chapter. Here it is said that the nature of things is existence, because they approach the causes and conditions that produce these things. Here, whatever does not exist does not have the causes and conditions that produce it approaching, like a flower in the sky. The causes and conditions that produce sprouts and formations, such as seeds and ignorance, are also approaching, therefore, the nature of things is existence. It can be said that if things, such as formations and sprouts, have a nature, then what is the use of causes and conditions for things that already exist? Just as formations and sprouts, etc., which exist now, do not approach ignorance and seeds, etc., in order to produce them, similarly, for other things, they should not be taken in order to produce them, because their nature exists. To illustrate this, (the text says) "It is not reasonable for nature to arise from causes and conditions." If because from it, existence itself would make birth meaningless, so before birth, no thing has a nature, then what is it? If it is thought that only the nature that does not exist before birth relies on causes and conditions and then arises later, even if it is thought like this, (the text says) "Arising from causes and conditions, nature will become fabricated." If because it arises from causes and conditions, nature itself will become fabricated, then this is just a wish. Therefore, because it has already been admitted that nature itself is fabricated, arguing about the fault of fabrication does not harm us. It is also unreasonable to say this, (the text says) "How can it be appropriate to call nature fabricated? Being both fabricated and nature, these two are contradictory, therefore it is a meaningless meaning. Just as here, from the special explanation that one's own essence is nature, whatever is a fabricated thing, the world will not call it nature, such as the temperature of water and
