No. Therefore, it is said that it is unreasonable. Because there are different actors for each separate event, it is extremely important that this exists as such, so it is said that it is unreasonable. The teacher Buddhagupta said: If there is one self, then it would be a fallacy to go to other senses, just as a man approaches another window. This is how it is explained. The teacher Sthiramati said: For the self that exists everywhere, there is no going to other senses, so it is said that the fault of being a fallacy is unreasonable, and he refutes it. This is unreasonable, because it is appropriate to refute the person who speaks of the person conceived by his own school, and also because he has not admitted that he exists everywhere. Therefore, the fault of being a fallacy is reasonable. However, wanting to eliminate the fault mentioned earlier, if it is said that the seer is different, the hearer is different, the feeler is different, and the thinker is also unreasonable, if it is admitted as such, when there is a seer, there will be a hearer, and the self will also become many. Just as a horse different from a cow is not simultaneously present when there is a cow, so if the hearer is different from the seer, then when that seer is present, it should also become simultaneously present, but since this is not desired, the different one does not exist. Furthermore, if it is like that, then the self becomes many, because it is admitted that the seer, the hearer, and the feeler, etc., are established separately. Therefore, the so-called person does not exist even before each of seeing, etc. Here it is said: I am the one who exists before all of seeing, etc. If it is thought, how should it be established if that exists? To those who think like this, it should be said: Thus, before seeing, etc., in the state of name and form, from that, gradually through the condition of name and form, namely the six places of birth, thus seeing and hearing, etc., which are to arise, there are the four great elements. Therefore, before seeing, etc., there is the self as the proximate object of the four great elements.
