Although you have restrained desire, attachment still exists because it has not been restrained. Attachment is also impossible without desire, therefore this also exists. It is to be said that if attachment exists, then there must be desire, then it is not the case that it exists. Like this, if one wants attachment, and speculates in the absence of desire, then neither way is reasonable, so it is said. For attachment, desire is, whether it exists or not, the order is the same. If it is thought that if desire exists, then attachment must exist, then, even so, if before attachment, there is desire without attachment, like this and so on, for attachment, the order of unreasonableness of desire just mentioned is the same. If it is thought that there is attachment without desire, this is also unreasonable, like this, even if desire has not arisen, how can there be attachment? Therefore attachment also does not exist. Because there is no desire and attachment, therefore the aggregates and so on also do not exist. Here it is said, from where does this fault arise? It is not the case that desire and attachment arise one after the other. Then what is it? Desire and attachment arise only simultaneously, the desire that arises simultaneously with the mind, makes the mind attached, and that is attachment, therefore desire and attachment exist, if it is said like this, it is to be said that, even so, desire and attachment, cannot arise simultaneously. It is also unreasonable for desire and attachment to arise simultaneously, because of what? Like this, desire and attachment, will become mutually independent. Because they arise simultaneously, like the left and right horns of a cow, so it is thought. Furthermore, are desire and attachment these simultaneously existing states, the same or different? Regarding this, if it is thought that they are one, that is not possible. Because of what? One does not have simultaneity, and why not? It itself is not simultaneous with itself. Like this, the self-nature of desire is not different from desire, so it cannot be said to be simultaneous with desire. Now it is to be said that, even if they are different, there is no simultaneity. If they are not different, then simultaneously

How does it change? Manifestation and darkness, or samsara and nirvana, for those that have become different, simultaneity is not seen. Furthermore, if only one exists alone, it will also become without a companion. If different things exist together, it will also become without a companion. If the one itself becomes simultaneous, then wherever the one itself exists, simultaneity also exists, so even for a single thing, simultaneity will exist. If one desires difference itself to be simultaneous, then wherever difference itself exists, simultaneity also exists, so even for things that are different from cows and horses, etc., and that exist separately and without companions, simultaneity will also exist. Furthermore, if different things are simultaneous, then what? Will desire and attachment become established as different? And then, will those two become simultaneous? If one imagines that desire and attachment are different but simultaneous, then are these two established as different? From what do they become simultaneous? Is it established that desire does not depend on attachment, or that attachment does not depend on desire? If it is like seeing simultaneity only in cows and horses that have been established as different in this way, then desire and attachment are not established as different in that way, so these two do not have simultaneity. Furthermore, if there is no simultaneity for things that have not been established as different, if desire and attachment become established as different, that is, if you imagine that, then what is the use of examining simultaneity, which does not do anything at all? It is said: Why is it fully examined that they are simultaneous? Simultaneity is examined in order to establish desire and attachment, but it does not exist for things that have not been established as different, so if one admits that they are established as different, then what is the use of the simultaneity of these things since they have already been established? However, because they have not been established as different, therefore one wants them to be simultaneous, that is, because desire and attachment have not been established as different, if one wants these to be simultaneous, but it does not exist for things that have not been established as different, so, simultaneous
