Therefore, it becomes two kinds of going, and therefore it will also become two kinds of goers, just as before, to be blamed. Therefore, saying "going" becomes meaningless. Here it is said that even if it is so, because there is the saying "Devadatta goes," there is going. It is not like that, because of what? Does someone who has already become a goer go, or does someone who is not a goer go, or does something different from these two go? This examination is about Devadatta, and it is not reasonable in any way, so this is not okay. Here it is said that going exists, because there is its beginning. Here, Devadatta gives up staying and starts walking, just as turtle hair does not exist, clothes are not a beginning either. It should be said that if its beginning exists, going will exist, but that does not exist. There is no beginning of going in what has been gone, and there is no beginning of going in what has not been gone, and there is no beginning in stepping, where does one start walking? If the beginning of going exists, then will it begin on the path that has been gone, or on what has not been gone, or on stepping? For the path that has been gone, there is no beginning of going, because going is the cessation of the act of going. If one starts walking there, then it will not become what has been gone, because the past and the present are contradictory. For the path that has not been gone, there is also no beginning of going, because the future and the present are contradictory. For stepping, it also does not exist, because it does not exist, and it will become two actions, and it will also become two actors. Therefore, like this, in all cases, not seeing the beginning of going, where does one start walking? It is said like this. In order to show how going does not exist, it is said: Before the beginning of going, where does one start going? There is no stepping, and there is no going, how can there be going in what has not been gone? Like this, when Devadatta is in a state of stillness, the beginning of going does not exist, because for him, before the beginning of going, where does one go

The aspect of the path that becomes walking does not exist, and what has gone does not exist either. Therefore, since what has gone and walking do not exist, there is no beginning of walking for these two. If, hypothetically, before the beginning of walking, there is neither what has gone nor walking, even so, the place where walking will begin, the not-gone exists, because walking will begin there, if you think so, then it should be said: Where is the not-gone walking? The not-gone is where the act of walking has not arisen and the act of walking has not begun, to begin walking there is irrelevant, thus it is said: Where is the not-gone walking? If, hypothetically, there is no beginning of walking for what has gone, what has not gone, and walking, but what has gone, what has not gone, and walking do exist, and if there is no walking, then these are not possible, it should be said: If these themselves exist, then walking will exist. If the beginning of walking exists, then where the act of walking has ceased, that should be regarded as what has gone, where it has become the present, that is walking, and where it has not arisen, that is what has not gone, if you observe in this way, at the time when the very beginning of the act of walking does not exist, the beginning of walking in all aspects, the appearance is non-existent. What is gone? What is walking? What is not gone? How to distinguish and observe? If the very beginning of walking is not visible in all aspects, then how can one think perversely in the three times? Where can one see the cause of its utterance, walking? Therefore, this is not reasonable. Here it is said that walking exists, because its antidote exists. Whatever has an antidote, that exists, like light and darkness, this shore and the other shore, and doubt and certainty. Walking also has an antidote, namely, abiding exists. It should be said: If its antidote, abiding, exists, then walking will exist, but that does not exist. How so? Is this abiding here the walker? Is it not the walker? Or is it something other than these two, if you observe in this way, in all aspects it is not possible, thus it is said: For the moment, the walker does not stay, the non-walker does not stay, the walker from the non-walker
