It is only faith. Furthermore, it has not been seen that the agents of two similar actions at the same time are two. Therefore, one goer does not have two goings. Here it is said: Even if it is so, however, from the statement "Devadatta goes," the going is directed towards the goer Devadatta. Therefore, going exists, because the basis of going, the goer, exists. It should be said: If the basis of going, the goer, exists, then if it changes like that, it does not exist. How is it? It is said: If the goer does not exist, going cannot be established. If going does not exist, how can the goer exist? It has already been said that without the goer, there is no going without a basis. Therefore, if the goer does not exist, that is, if it is excluded, going does not exist. If there is no going, how can causeless going exist? Therefore, going does not exist. Here it is said: Going does exist, because through it, that which is associated with it is expressed. Here, the goer is associated with going, and from being associated with it, it is also going. If going does not exist, then it will not be said that Devadatta, who is not associated with going, is going, just as it is not said that there is a pillar when there is no pillar. It should be said: If this statement "going" itself exists, going will exist, but that does not exist. Why? For a while, the goer does not go. The non-goer is not going. Other than the goer and the non-goer, who is the third one who will go? Here, because he performs the going, he is the goer, but he does not go for a while. How he does not go, the following three verses will show. The non-goer also does not go. The so-called non-goer is the one who is separated from the activity of going. And the word "going" applies to that which is associated with the activity of going. Therefore, if this is not the goer, then how does he go? But if he goes, then this should not be called the non-goer. If it is said that something different from these two goes, that is not possible. Because what is saying "going"?

Then, is there a third entity other than the goer and the non-goer? Therefore, there is no going. Here it is said: the non-goer does not go, and neither does that which is neither; so what is it? Only the goer goes. This also does not exist. Why? Like this: When there is no going, the goer cannot be established; how can it be established that the goer goes for a while? In the statement "the goer goes," there is only one act of going, and it is expressed as "goes"; and in the expression "goer," there is no second act of going, so when there is no going, the goer, that is, the non-going, when there is no such thing as a goer, it is unreasonable to say "the goer goes." If "going" is established, then the term "goer" is impossible, so it is unreasonable. If it is said that because of having going, the goer has going, then even so, since there is no second act of going, the expression "goes" cannot exist, as it is said: For which side is the goer, for that going there is no going, it would follow that it is a goer, because the goer wants to go. The opponent believes that it is from the very possession of going that one is a goer, and for that which wants the goer to go, the expression of the goer has going, without going, the goer goes, because there is no second act of going. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say "the goer goes." The word "goer" in the statement "being a goer without going" refers to the meaning of the act of going. If it is said that both the goer and the going possess going, then even so, if the goer were to go, it would follow that there are two goings, with which going is the goer manifested, and which going does one go after becoming a goer? With which going is the goer manifested and expressed, that single going, and which going does one go after becoming a goer, that is, which act of going?
