Impermanence itself, and if a sprout arises from an uncorrupted seed, these are not so. Therefore, when the last ceases, the first existence is not reasonable. Now, to show how the first existence is unreasonable even when the last existence is ceasing. If the last is ceasing, and the first is arising, then what is ceasing becomes one, and what is arising becomes another. It is said. Among these, what is ceasing is the present, because it should be expressed with the limit of the condition of the present. What is called arising also refers to the present, because it is the object of expression of the word of the present. Or, what is ceasing is the one who is doing the action of ceasing, and what is arising is also the one who is doing the action of arising, and if it is thought that these are simultaneous, then they will become existing simultaneously. Therefore, what is ceasing becomes one existence, and what is arising becomes another, and if the two existences are simultaneous, it is not possible for one to have two simultaneously, so this is unreasonable. Therefore, in the manner of examining in the way described above, if ceasing and arising, even simultaneously, are not reasonable, then, on which aggregates will death occur, will birth also occur on those? The word "also" is for the meaning of gathering, in order to establish these separately. When, in the manner described above, when the last ceases, the first existence does not arise, when the last has not ceased, the first existence does not arise, and simultaneously with the last existence, that is, at the same time, the first existence does not arise, then, on which aggregates will death occur, will birth also occur on those? For which aggregates exist and will die, on those aggregates the so-called arising is very contradictory. Thus, what is dying is not seen as arising. Therefore, in this way, in the three times, the continuum of existence is not reasonable, because the last existence has ceased, has not ceased, and is ceasing, the first existence does not exist, therefore, in the three times, the continuum of existence does not exist. What does not exist in the three times,

Then, how does the continuity of existence come about? If something does not exist in the three times of past, present, and future, how can it be possessed by other things? Therefore, in any case, the continuity of existence does not exist. Therefore, if it is said that "the result comes from the arising and ceasing of the cause, and the cause is existence," then that is speaking unreasonably. Therefore, if one admits that things exist, then it is difficult to avoid falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation. Therefore, the view that things are unborn is established. The Blessed One also said, "The three realms are like dreams, without essence, quickly decaying like illusions, without coming and without going from here, all phenomena are always empty and without characteristics." Similarly, "Birth and death are also thus, who knows the unborn and undying, this samadhi is very difficult to obtain." It was also said like this. Similarly, "Whoever knows these inconceivable dharmas, those people are always happy, without distinguishing between dharma and non-dharma, everything is a manifestation of the mind. Everything is inconceivable, everything is unborn, destroying the knowledge of existence and non-existence. Those children who are controlled by their minds, they will suffer in hundreds of thousands of kotis of lives." It was said like this. The commentary on the twenty-first chapter, "Examination of Arising and Ceasing," from Acharya Chandrakirti's Clear Words is completed. Here it is said: The continuity of existence exists, because the Tathagata exists. Here, the Blessed One, in three or seven countless eons, diligently persevered without interruption, engaging in the accumulation of merit, whose work of benefiting beings is unique, embracing all beings in various ways, even more than cherishing an only child, being used by others with great compassion, in each birthplace, like land, water, fire, wind, and medicinal plants, he himself also allowed beings to enjoy as they wished, and thus after a long time, became an omniscient one.
