If it is said that each hair of beings with hair on their bodies, as well as the forms seen by the blind and deaf, etc., as well as sounds, etc., as well as vases separated by walls, etc., as well as the bodies of accomplished ones, gods, and flesh-eaters, etc., as well as other realms along with mental attention to other realms, are ungraspable like other realms. Then, by what means do these exist but are not perceived? These ungrasped exist in existence itself, and are constant and existent. If it is said that because they are grasped by inference, approximation, and scriptures, therefore they are existent. Then, it should not be said that they are not perceived, because they are perceived by inference, etc. If it is said that whatever is to be grasped by the senses with form, even if it exists, is not grasped by the agents. Answer: Did we say that what exists cannot be grasped by the senses with form? Then, what do you say? We say: If the collection is something that can be grasped. This is generally said. If it is said that whatever does not exist in a certain place is not produced from there, like oil cannot be extracted from sand. The fruit is also produced from the collection, therefore, the existence of the fruit in the collection can only be inferred by inference. Answer: Whatever exists in a certain place is not produced from there, for example, yogurt is not produced from a bowl. Because its existence cannot be inferred from this inference, therefore, is it not considered that the fruit does not exist in the collection? If it is said that both views contradict inference, and since existence is unreasonable, then non-existence is also unreasonable. Answer: We are not proving that it does not exist, but we are preventing others from thinking that it exists. Similarly, we are not proving that it exists, but we are eliminating the view that others think it does not exist. Because we want to eliminate both extremes and thereby establish the Middle Way. It is also said in the *Śataśāstra*: "If someone wants the fruit to exist, or someone wants the fruit to not exist, then decorations such as pillars for the house become meaningless." Therefore, in that case, from the collection arises

Fruit is not produced, because if it exists, it would be subject to being grasped. Thus it is established. If you think that there is no fruit in the aggregate, then also: If the aggregates of causes and conditions, have no fruit, then the causes and the conditions, are not causes and conditions, but are the same. Just as fire and coal, etc., do not have sprouts, therefore, they do not become the cause of it. Likewise, those who wish to speak of seeds, etc., do not become causes and conditions, because they do not have sprouts. It is also not reasonable for fruits to arise from things that are not causes and conditions, therefore, there is no fruit arising. Here it is said: From what is gathered, does the aggregate have fruit or not? This thought changes. The aggregate does not have the ability to produce fruit. If so, what is it? The cause has the ability to produce fruit, and the aggregate only benefits the cause. That cause, in order to produce fruit, gives the cause and ceases, and the fruit benefited by that cause is also born. It should be said that there is no benefit to a cause that has not produced fruit, and no one can do even a little to the unborn, like the child of a barren woman, so this distinction is unreasonable. Furthermore, if the cause to the fruit, gives the cause and then ceases, the nature of the cause, what is given and what ceases, becomes two. If you think that because that cause produces the fruit, that cause gives the cause and then ceases, then if the nature of the cause, what is given and what ceases, becomes two, then this is also unreasonable, because it becomes half permanent, and because it becomes half impermanent. Permanent and impermanent, which are mutually contradictory, are also impossible on one. If, in order to avoid the fault of the nature of the cause becoming two, for the sake of producing the fruit, if you want to admit that even a little is not given, and that the cause of all the self ceases, then also: If the cause to the fruit, ceases without giving the cause, the cause

If the (cause) ceases and then the (effect) arises, that effect will become causeless. If nothing is given to the effect, and the (cause) itself completely ceases, then the effect that arises after the cause has ceased will only become causeless. Since causelessness does not exist, this idea is unreasonable. Here it is said: If the effect arises from the cause, this fault will occur. In that case, it will become that only arising together can produce the effect, just as a lamp produces light. To show that this idea is also unreasonable, it is said: If the effect also arises together with the aggregation, then the producer and the produced will become simultaneous. Just as the left and right horns of a cow exist simultaneously, but cannot be seen as the producer and the produced, so this is unreasonable. Here some say: Things do not arise from non-existence, because that would become sudden arising. Therefore, the effect exists in the future state before the aggregation of cause and conditions; the aggregation of cause and conditions is to make it arise in the present state, and the substance exists. To them it is said: If the effect has already arisen before the aggregation, then the effect without cause and conditions will become causeless arising. That is to say, if the effect exists in its own nature before the aggregation, then it does not depend on cause and conditions, and therefore it will become causeless arising. Things that arise without cause do not exist, because that would become that donkey horns and the like also exist. For things that already exist, there is no need to rely on cause and conditions, so this is also unreasonable. Still others say: The effect is only produced by the cause, not by the aggregation, and there will be no fault as mentioned above. Just like this, from what (perspective) to analyze, does the cause cease after giving the effect to the fruit, or does it cease without giving it? The cause is also other
