For example, in order to know that two lamps appearing at the same time are called "simultaneous," and appearing at different times are called "non-simultaneous," therefore, time cannot be established as truly existent. In order to show that, because there is no self-nature of form-related things, if the things used as examples do not exist, how can time exist? Because no example is shown, time is not established, this is the concluding statement. For the time being, those show that because there is no example in the opponent's argument, time is not established as truly existent. Chariots, armies, forests, and so on, are not truly existent things, but there is also a superimposed existence of "not existing but existing," so it is also an inconclusive reason. Because the opponent's argument is a superimposed existence, it is uncertain and not established. Here, chariots, armies, forests, and so on, are not truly existent things, and it is also seen that there is a superimposed existence of "not existing," therefore, why should it be that because it is a superimposed existence, it will be like chariots, armies, forests, and so on, and not be truly existent? Or because it is a superimposed existence, time will be established as truly existent, this is uncertain, so the opponent's argument is not established. If it is said that because things with parts such as chariots are shown to be truly existent, there is no fault, this is the opponent saying: In our school, things with parts such as chariots are composed of parts such as spokes, so they are shown to be truly existent, therefore our argument has no fault of being an inconclusive reason. As an answer to that: Because the negation of things with parts being shown to be truly existent has been said before, it is not without fault. In order to negate that things with parts are not truly existent, the previous measurement with truly existent has already prevented things with parts such as chariots from being shown to be truly existent, so the opponent's argument is not without the fault of being an inconclusive reason, therefore it is not established as truly existent. Some people say that time is only established in dependence on things, for example: staying for a moment, staying for a day, staying for a month, and so on.
