To further establish validity, just as it has been shown there that it is unreasonable for things that have gone, have not gone, and are walking to go, similarly, here too, things that are bound will not be bound, because they are already bound. For example, it is meaningless to bind something that is already bound, or there is no doubt that it is already bound. Things that are not bound will also not be bound, because binding has been eliminated. For example, like liberation. Things that are being bound and things that are unspeakable will also not be bound, because it would lead to a double fault and is unspeakable. For example, just as it is unreasonable to bind something that is being liberated. Just as it has been shown there that there is no effort to go for things that have gone, have not gone, and are walking, similarly, here too, there is no effort to bind for things that are bound, not bound, and being bound, because for things that are bound, there is no effort to bind. Because it is already bound. For example, like something that has been bound for a long time. For things that are not bound, there is also no effort to bind, because it is not bound. For example, like liberation. For things that are being bound and things that are unspeakable, there is also no effort to bind, because it would lead to a double fault and is unspeakable. For example, just as there is no effort to bind for something that is being liberated. Thus it is said, and these things are connected in the appropriate order with the subject, the thing to be proven, the means of proof, and the example, as appropriate, to state that for these things, there is no binding and no effort to bind, and no liberation and no effort to liberate. Here someone says: Binding is only existent, because its antidote exists. Just as the antidote to knowledge is ignorance, because the antidote to binding is liberation, therefore binding is only existent. This statement is an argument put forward by the opponent to establish the existence of binding through the reason that the antidote to binding, liberation, exists. These things are connected in the appropriate order with the subject, the thing to be proven, the means of proof, the example, and the conclusion. For example, just as because the antidote to knowledge, ignorance, exists, therefore knowledge is also only existent, similarly, because the antidote to binding, liberation, exists, therefore binding is also only existent. They say this. In response to their saying this, the explanation is as follows:

It is precisely because of this that it is explained here. If, from the ultimate point of view, liberation exists, then is it something that is bound, unbound, or in the process of being liberated that can attain liberation? Having said this, it is shown that liberation is unreasonable through three types of examination, thereby also showing that bondage does not exist either. In order to explain the first of these examinations, firstly, something that is bound will not be liberated. This is because, so-called bondage is when the antidote to bondage has not yet arisen. And it is precisely because the antidote to bondage has not yet arisen that it will not be liberated. For example, just like being completely endowed with all the bondages of afflictions, it is said. In order to explain the second examination, something that is unbound will also not be liberated. Because for liberation itself, which is the separation from bondage, there is no liberation even nominally, it is said. In order to explain the third examination, if someone thinks, the scriptures say: "The non-learning mind is arising, it is liberated from obscurations." Therefore, can something that is in the process of being liberated attain liberation? It is said. This is because other schools of thought believe that when the non-learning mind is arising, the path of no-interruption and the path of liberation arise simultaneously, which is explained through the scriptures of the Ornament for Clear Realization, so something that is in the process of being liberated can attain liberation, this is the aforementioned view. In order to show that this view is unreasonable, it should be said, what is the so-called being in the process of being liberated? If it is said to be bondage, then if bondage is being liberated, bondage and liberation will occur simultaneously. The so-called being bound by bondage, and being liberated by liberation, these two will occur simultaneously, which is not accepted. Therefore, it must be undoubtedly proven that it is either bondage itself or liberation itself. If this is the case, then the previously stated reasoning will cause harm, therefore there is no way to answer, it is said. Because the previously stated reasoning in terms of bondage and unbondage will cause harm. Something that is arising is either already arisen or not yet arisen, either bound or unbound, therefore the aforementioned fault is not non-existent, the meaning of this is that previously other schools of thought said: "The non-learning mind is arising, it is liberated from obscurations." This shows that this statement is unreasonable. If it is said that something is arising
