Now, therefore, if someone believes that there exists a "self" called "realization," which is imputed by others, then this must necessarily be false. However, if someone believes that the "self" called "realization," which is imputed by others, is definitely real, then liberation is impossible for them. Therefore, the Buddha said that those non-Buddhists who believe that the "self" can be liberated from suffering, that is definitely false. Here, some of the Samkhyas assert liberation through Prakriti (nature), while others assert liberation through Purusha (spirit). As the noble teacher Aryadeva previously said, "Liberation must be false." Therefore, if someone believes that the "self" called "realization," which is imputed by others, is definitely not false, then liberation is impossible for them. Therefore, the Buddha said that those non-Buddhists who believe that the "self" can be liberated from suffering, that is definitely false. Regarding this statement, the Samkhyas believe that even if there is a "self," liberation is possible, so the "self" can be liberated from suffering. Here, the Samkhya's view is explained, that is, the Samkhyas believe that liberation is possible, some of whom assert liberation through Prakriti, while others assert liberation through Purusha, explaining these two views. Among them, first, "Prakriti, the manifold support, revolves, binds, and liberates." This verse explains the view that asserts liberation through Prakriti. That is, the view of those Samkhyas who assert liberation through Prakriti. In the "Seventy Golden Treatise," there is such a verse: "Prakriti, the manifold support," meaning that Prakriti, that is, the state of equilibrium of the three gunas (Sanskrit, गुण,guṇa, quality, attribute) of Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, is the support of the five sense organs, the five action organs, the mind organ, the five tanmatras, and other sentient and non-sentient things. Because it depends on various things, it is called "manifold support." "Revolves, binds, and liberates," meaning that when Prakriti, the manifold support, revolves in the five paths, it is in samsara; when Prakriti, like a blind or lame person, clings to the body, senses, and objects for the benefit of Purusha,

At the time of bondage, it is the time of being bound; at the time when nature is liberated from the meaning of the person, it is the time of liberation. Like this, nature is the agent, because it has action, so it will transmigrate, be bound, and be liberated; while the person is the enjoyer, because it does not have action, so it will not transmigrate, be bound, and be liberated. Therefore, the liberation of nature is called nirvana. Regarding this, the Samkhya school believes that the view of nature attaining liberation is: when wisdom arises with the knowledge of being alone, wisdom itself will be liberated. That is to say, as long as wisdom does not think that the subject of enlightenment is other, and the nature of luminosity, passion, and darkness are also other, then the knowledge of being alone will not arise, therefore it is bondage. When wisdom thinks that the subject of enlightenment is other, and the nature of luminosity, passion, and darkness are also other, then the knowledge of being alone will arise, therefore wisdom itself will be liberated. Therefore, the liberation of nature is called nirvana. In order to refute the view of those who say this as unreasonable, here the commentator himself says: the wisdom that thinks that those subjects are also other, and nature is also other, is a wrong view. Therefore, those of the Samkhya school think that the subject of enlightenment is also other, and the wisdom that nature is also other is a wrong view, because it is not the cause of arising the knowledge of being alone, it is the cause of bondage, not the cause of liberation, therefore it has no liberation. Why is the wisdom that thinks that the subject is also other, and nature is also other, a wrong view? Therefore, it is said: because it is not produced from that. Because wisdom is not produced from nature, therefore the wisdom that thinks that the subject is also other, and nature is also other, is a wrong view. How is wisdom not produced from nature? The Samkhya school's own scriptures say that from nature arises the great, from the great arises ego, from ego arises the senses and mind, and those measures. Because they think that wisdom is the essence of nature, therefore the subject of wisdom is also other, luminosity and passion.
