If it is not so, then therefore, in reality, as for our side, the previously shown arguments are: If karma and afflictions, how can that be said on an empty body? Because karma and afflictions have no self-nature, just like karma and afflictions, the body is also not established. It should be understood in this way, so it is said. Therefore, since they have results, the meaning of the reason is not established, and the fault as previously stated has not disappeared, and since the example is not established, the subsequent reasoning has not harmed it either. Thus, it is shown that the meaning of the reason for the two arguments previously stated by the other party is also not established, and the Madhyamaka school has not been harmed by subsequent reasoning either. What is said is that in reality, karma is the only existent, because it has an enjoyer who enjoys its result. Here, for something that does not exist, there is no enjoyer who enjoys its result, such as a garland of sky flowers, etc. This is the discourse of the other party arguing that karma is the only existent in reality with the reason that there is an enjoyer who enjoys the result of karma. They are respectively the subject, the dharma to be proven, the dharma of proof, and the example of the aspect that does not conform to the dharma, connecting them in order. In order to show its related connection, for karma, there is an enjoyer who enjoys the result, a being obscured by ignorance, possessing desire, that is the enjoyer. That is also not different from the actor, nor is it that itself. Thus it is said, for karma, there is an enjoyer who enjoys the result, a being obscured by ignorance, possessing the pervasive action of craving, therefore, the enjoyer is also not different from the actor, nor is it that itself, therefore, that in reality karma is the only existent, will be combined with the conclusion below. In order to show the detailed explanation of the meaning of the words of the verse shown by the related connection, wherein ignorance is a dharma that does not conform to wisdom. Being obscured by it is being covered. The so-called being is the one who is born.

That is sentient beings. The term "desireful" means that desire is craving. Because it is fully connected to this, "desireful" means having a complete connection with desire, which is its definition. That is the enjoyer of the fruits of karma. As the Sutra says: "Beings obscured by ignorance, possess the complete connection of desire." Also, it is said: "If you yourselves commit this sinful deed, you yourselves must experience its maturation." Therefore, it is also not different from the agent, nor is it the agent itself, because it cannot be said to be both the agent itself and different from the agent. This is what is said. To show the conclusion of these, therefore, by the power of the reasons stated above, because there is an enjoyer who enjoys the fruits of karma, therefore, in reality, karma certainly exists. Just as here, a garland of fruits of sky flowers, for which there is no enjoyer, so the sky does not exist. But, for the fruits of karma there is an enjoyer, beings obscured by ignorance, possessing desire, therefore the agent and being different from the agent are unspeakable, because there is such karma, therefore, in reality, karma certainly exists. They say this. To answer what they say, the commentator himself explains here: This is only the beginning of the treatise, in general, for things, therefore it does not arise from conditions. If it does not arise from conditions, then the fruit does not exist. Because there is no fruit, how can it become a condition? It has been analyzed. This is what is said. This, in the previous chapter on examining conditions, for things in general, does not arise from conditions and non-conditions, therefore for it, there is also no agent and no enjoyer, this reasoning has already been analyzed with verses. Therefore, it shows that the opponent's argument is not established. To show this, because this karma does not arise from conditions, nor does it arise from non-conditions, therefore karma does not exist. Therefore, the agent also does not exist. The agent also does not arise like karma, and because the agent is prevented, and because it is not substantially existent, so it is thought. This is what is said.
