In order to show an example that conforms to reason, that also exists. Therefore, this also illustrates: "Because the continuum of aggregates, this is like the light of a lamp." This statement indicates that it is a word of an example that conforms to reason. Therefore, the words combined here are: The previous continuum of aggregates connected with ignorance does not cease, because it has its result, like the continuum of a lamp. This shows the inference that the world is not finite. Those are the subject, the dharma to be proven, the dharma that proves, and the example, combined in order. For example, the previous continuum of a lamp connected with oil and wick does not cease because it has its result. Similarly, the previous continuum of aggregates connected with ignorance and existence also does not cease because it has its result. Therefore, there is a next life, so the world is infinite, not like a burnt seed, without connection. Similarly, the continuum of results that is similar to that arises, and it will not be destroyed, because it has its result, like the previous continuum of a lamp. This shows the inference that the world is not infinite. Those are the subject, the dharma to be proven, the dharma that proves, and the example, combined in order. For example, the previous continuum of a lamp does not perish because it has its result. Similarly, the previous aggregate and the continuum of results similar to that, the aggregate that is now produced, also does not perish because it has its result. Therefore, the world is infinite, and the result that abides just like that will not fail to arise. Therefore, "Neither finite nor infinite is reasonable." This shows the conclusion of the previous two inferences, that the world is neither finite nor infinite. Those, through the way of following, show that it is unreasonable to think that the world is finite and to think that the world is infinite. Now, in order to show through the opposite way that it is unreasonable to think that the world is finite and to think that the world is infinite. Because the inferences as shown above

has disappeared. If the former were to perish, and relying on this aggregate, that aggregate would not arise, then the world would be finite, because the later aggregates would not arise at any time. Similarly, if the former were not to perish, and relying on this aggregate, that aggregate would not arise, then the world would be infinite, because the former aggregates would necessarily remain at all times. Thus it is said. Because of this, the two Madhyamaka inferences as previously shown have disappeared. If the opponents were to be like these two verses, as they desire, then the world would be both finite and infinite. Since it is not so, it is unreasonable to view the world as finite and infinite, it should be understood in this way. Now, in order to show that it is unreasonable to view the world as both finite and non-finite. Now, if one side is finite and one side is not finite, then the world will be both finite and non-finite, which is also unreasonable. Why? For example, the taker, one side will completely perish and one side will not perish, which is unreasonable, because it is harmed by the inferences shown in both aspects. For example, the taken, one side will completely perish and one side will not perish, which is also unreasonable, because here too it is harmed by the inferences shown in both aspects. Thus it is said. From the basis of thinking that I will or will not arise in the future, the view that the world is both finite and non-finite arises. That is, if the dualists, as they wish, rely on the types of bodies, one side is finite, and relying on the types of life, one side is not finite, then the world will be both finite and non-finite. But this is also unreasonable. Why? Because the near-taker self and the near-taken aggregates will perish on one side
