Previously, the opponents said to the Madhyamikas: "You said, immediately after the debate ended, 'The Buddha has not taught any Dharma to anyone, anywhere.' You said this because you understood that the Blessed One's teaching on dependent origination scatters all the herds of deer of the heretics and pacifies the faults of wrong views. Because the Blessed One is famously known as the Buddha in the world, you wanted to refute him, so you said, 'The Buddha has not taught any Dharma to anyone, anywhere.'" Therefore, it is shown that there is no situation where one would be harmed by admitting it. Here, the meaning of the debate is that the opponents, at the beginning of the debate, pointed out the fault of the proposition, and the answer was given by explaining the conventional dependent origination. This is the conclusion, the result of valid cognition (pramana). In the twenty-sixth chapter, which is the debate examining the twelve links of existence, the meaning of the debate is regarded as the result of valid cognition because the opponents, at the beginning of this debate, previously the Madhyamikas, in terms of ultimate truth, said, "All objects of focus are completely pacified, and the cessation of proliferation is peace." Taking this as a premise, they said, "The Buddha has not taught any Dharma to anyone, anywhere." For this proposition, it was pointed out that there was a fault of admitting it, and the answer was given by composing a treatise, thereby explaining the conventional dependent origination. What are the merits of explaining conventional dependent origination? Furthermore, in order to dispel the claim that explaining this only accomplishes some dry logical treatises, here we must also establish the source of reliable scriptural authority. Therefore, the Blessed One said that dependent origination is unborn, therefore it is called dependent origination. For that which is unborn, where would there be cessation? By realizing the absence of cessation, one realizes dependent origination, etc., as it was said, these are all established. Thus, it is said that these reliable scriptural authorities are established, which is the explanation of conventional dependent origination.

Are merits and sources. These are shown as the objects to be explained in detail by this treatise, and are also the wisdom of the venerable teacher (master) and the mastery of the commentators. The twenty-sixth chapter, the extensive commentary on the "Examination of the Twelve Branches of Existence" from the Commentary on the Root of the Middle Way, Lamp of Wisdom, composed by the teacher Lekdenjye, is complete, composed by the teacher Chenrezik Tultrim Zhuk. Now, similarly, by refuting the differences of the opposing sides of emptiness, because of the meaning of showing the view as emptiness, the twenty-seventh chapter, called "Examination of Views," is composed. Among them, the word "because" should also be regarded here as the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition, and the meaning of connecting with the following text. The meaning of the words is the same as before. Among them, in terms of the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition, it is said, "Now, similarly, by refuting the differences of the opposing sides of emptiness." When the author of the treatise composed the first chapter, "Examination of Conditions," he made the proposition that things do not arise, so here too, as before, how the author of the treatise made the proposition, that is, in terms of the meaning of the cause of entering into it, he said that. Among them, "similarly" means according to the reason stated before. "Emptiness" is one's own side. "The opposing side of it" is the external side, that is, it says that things are self-existent. What is called "the difference of it" is that the other party first establishes the proposition that things are self-existent. As it is said in such places, such as "In terms of truth, the five aggregates of close acquisition are only self-existent, because they are the place of view," and so on. What is called "by refuting it" is that by refuting it, it is connected to the composition of the twenty-seventh chapter. In terms of the meaning of connecting with the following text, it is said, "Because of the meaning of showing the view as emptiness, the twenty-seventh chapter is composed." The
