On the other hand, it is impossible for a phenomenon like seeing two moons to occur. If you say that seeing two moons is a mind, then because it is not substantially existent, there is the fault of the example lacking the property to be proven. That is to say, if your example is "like seeing two moons," that is not an external object, but an internal mind. Because it is not substantially existent, it is not an object of the consciousness of form. Similarly, the aggregation of subtle particles of form is also not an external object, but an internal mind, and it is considered to be substantially existent. Two moons. It is not an object of the consciousness of form, which has the fault of lacking the property to be proven. If you say, "Seeing two moons is an internal mind," you who are proponents of mere consciousness consider mind and mental factors to be substantially existent. Therefore, "seeing two moons is a mind" is not established because it is not substantially existent. Therefore, your example "like seeing two moons" lacks the property to be proven, "because it is not substantially existent," so it is not valid. If you say that the consciousness of form is empty of the meaning of "form," then there is the fault of the example lacking the property to be proven. Because the consciousness that sees two moons cannot arise without relying on an external object. That is to say, you said before that if an aggregation is form, then it is not an object of the consciousness of form because it is not substantially existent, like seeing two moons. If this argument shows that the consciousness of form is empty of the meaning of "form," and that the consciousness of the eye does not have an external object of form, then your example has the fault of lacking the property to be proven. Why? The consciousness of the eye, the consciousness that sees two moons, is because there are four moons existing externally as its object, and taking that as its object, the consciousness that sees two moons arises afterwards. Therefore, the consciousness that sees two moons does not rely on the external object, which is the four moons that existed before.

Because it cannot arise, your example is looking at the external object of seeing two moons. For what is to be established, namely the Dharma, the consciousness of form that arises without relying on external objects, is called the consciousness of form, and is shown by the meaning called form. Because showing that has the fault of being incomplete, it is not acceptable. Furthermore, the consciousness that one wants to speak of is not the same as the cause of the object, the form that appears as the form of the consciousness of form, because it possesses the cause of the eye, just like its own nature appears. Therefore, by verbally slandering the cause of the object, it contradicts the boundary of what has been done. This sentence shows that: the established tenet of those who speak of mere consciousness is that there is no external object, but only the mind of the inner mind, so the arising of consciousness is the arising into two parts, the aspect of what is to be grasped and the aspect of what is to be grasped. Among them, the aspect of what is to be grasped is consciousness itself, just like the aspect of an object, appearing as the cause of the object in the external world. The aspect of what is to be grasped is consciousness itself, relying on the aspect of what is to be grasped, it arises as the nature of what is to be grasped. Therefore, one part of consciousness itself is the aspect of what is to be grasped, and one part is the aspect of what is to be grasped. Because these two are of the same nature, the nature of what is to be grasped and what is to be grasped are inseparable. Because that part of the aspect of what is to be grasped is the cause of the object of that part of the aspect of what is to be grasped, mind itself focuses on mind itself and arises, therefore there is no external object, but only the mind of the inner mind. Now here, refute their tenet and show that there is a cause of the object other than consciousness, namely the external object. The consciousness observed by those who speak of mere consciousness, that part of the aspect of what is to be grasped is not the same as the cause of the object, that part of the aspect of what is to be grasped, because it possesses the cause of the eye, for example, the very nature of that part of the aspect of what is to be grasped is not the same as the very nature of the cause of the object.
