Moreover, the faculties and consciousnesses also exist in internal and external objects like illusions, etc. But from the ultimate point of view, they are without self-nature, and therefore the self-nature of other-dependence is not truly seen either. This is what they believe. If it is said that it is not difficult to demonstrate this, because the Sutra says: 'Sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only mind.' The Yogācāra school would say that even without external objects, it is not difficult to demonstrate that from the ālaya-vijñāna, objects, faculties, afflicted mind, and the consciousness that enters into them can appear, and thus the consciousness arises. In the *Ten Bhūmi Sūtra* it says: 'Sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only mind.' Because of this, even without external objects, the three realms, such as objects, faculties, and consciousness, can appear. This is what they say. To answer what they say, this is explained here: This is not an answer, because the words of the Sutra are explained in another way. In the *Ten Bhūmi Sūtra*, it says: 'Sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only mind.' This is said to negate the agent and the profound that are other than mind, so it is said 'only mind'. It is not said 'only mind' to negate external objects. Because you have misinterpreted the words of the Sutra, this is not an answer. Furthermore, what needs to be proven is not the object of direct perception, but is established through scripture and inference. Because what you need to prove, that external objects and faculties do not exist, and that only the internal mind exists, is not the object of direct perception, it can be established through scripture and inference if they exist. But you have neither the scripture that refutes external objects and demonstrates that only the internal mind exists, nor the inference that proves this. Therefore, in conventional truth, external objects and faculties can function as non-objects like illusions, etc., and exist as objects of direct perception.

It is also unreasonable to eliminate. It is also unreasonable to truly claim that there is the nature of other-dependence, so this is not an answer. Therefore, Yogācāras do not even accept external objects and sense faculties in conventional truth, but they believe that the nature of other-dependence exists even in ultimate truth, which is refuted because there are no scriptures or inferences. Here, Yogācāras show that there are inferences and scriptures to establish that external objects do not exist. Therefore, in order to show the inference, if consciousness is empty of meanings such as Caitra, because it has an appearance, and is a result, and is impermanent, and is immovable, and has a timely appearance, for example, like the mind of a dream that acts by obtaining its own seed, thus the inference is stated. Those are the subject, the property to be proven, the proving property, and the example, which are combined in order. For example, the mind of a dream that acts by obtaining its own seed, because it has an appearance, and is a result, and is impermanent, and is immovable, and has a timely appearance, is empty of meanings such as Caitra. Because it acts by obtaining its own seed, even if there is no external object, Caitra and Maitra, as well as Devadatta and Yajñadatta, etc., external objects do not exist externally, but appear in one's own continuum. Similarly, the Ālayavijñāna also, because it has an appearance, and is a result, and is impermanent, and is immovable, and has a timely appearance, is empty of meanings such as Caitra. Because it acts by obtaining its own seed, even if there is no external object, Caitra and Maitra, as well as Devadatta and Yajñadatta, etc., external objects do not exist externally, but appear in one's own continuum, therefore it can be inferred that external objects do not exist. Now, in order to show that there are also scriptures, the scripture says: External appearances do not exist, like the body, enjoyment, and place are similar, because the mind appears in various ways, I say it is only mind. Because it is so stated.
