Furthermore, since the lineages of humans and gods, etc., are different, it is impossible for humans to be born into the lineages of gods, etc., because that would be contradicted by subsequent inference. If the examination of the seed continuum and the nature of conformity with the Dharma of other schools were like that, then many great faults would occur, which is not desirable. Similarly, a virtuous mind cannot arise from a non-virtuous mind and an indeterminate mind, a non-virtuous mind cannot arise from a virtuous mind and an indeterminate mind, an indeterminate mind cannot arise from a virtuous mind and a non-virtuous mind, a mind that operates in the desire realm cannot arise from a mind that operates in the form and formless realms, and a supramundane mind, a mind that operates in the form realm cannot arise from a mind that operates in the desire realm, the formless realm, and a supramundane mind, and a mind that operates in the formless realm cannot arise from a mind that operates in the desire and form realms, and a supramundane mind, because the inference as stated above would contradict it. Therefore, the reason and example should be applied as before. Therefore, if the examination of the seed continuum and the nature of conformity with the Dharma of other schools were like that, then various minds such as virtuous, non-virtuous, and indeterminate uncontaminated minds would not arise in succession, and because there would be no confused realms, all compositions would become meaningless, which shows that many great faults would occur. These should also be applied in order as the subject, the Dharma to be established, the Dharma that establishes, the example, and the conclusion. For example, just as the seeds of the neem tree and fruits such as mangoes are of different kinds, so fruits such as mangoes cannot arise from the seeds of the neem tree, similarly, virtuous and non-virtuous minds, etc., and minds that operate in the desire realm and minds that operate in the form realm, etc., are also of different kinds, so virtuous minds cannot arise from non-virtuous minds, etc., and minds that operate in the desire realm cannot arise from minds that operate in the form realm, etc., because that would be contradicted by subsequent inference. If the seed continuum and the conformity with the Dharma of other schools

If such an examination of self-nature were to occur, many great faults of error would arise. This is also undesirable. If that were the case, it would be inappropriate to adopt or abandon virtuous and non-virtuous deeds. Therefore, that examination is not reasonable here. This is called the conclusion and the result of valid cognition. From the distinctions of good and non-good, obscured and non-obscured, and the unspecified, the mind will become diverse. From the diverse minds, diverse continuums will arise. From diverse continuums, diverse actions will arise, and from diverse actions, differences in realms, castes, lineages, regions, times, faculties, colors, shapes, strengths, intelligence, and so on will arise. However, this examination is unreasonable, and therefore, many great errors will occur, so that examination is not reasonable here. Having refuted the unreasonableness of the tenets stated by other schools in this way, now, in order to explain one's own tenets, how is it reasonable? Not stained by the defilement of the stated faults, which examination is spoken of by the Buddhas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Shravakas Is reasonable here? That should be thoroughly explained. Thus it is said. In order to explain that very point, what is it? Like a loan with collateral, so too, karma does not go to waste. And so on. In the tenets of those who speak of the specific characteristics of the dharma called "not going to waste," karma should be viewed like a loan, and "not going to waste" should be viewed like collateral. Therefore, the moment of karma ceases immediately after it is done, and the "not going to waste" of that moment of karma, this non-momentary dharma, arises from the cause of karma, is unspecified, belongs to non-mental formations, arises in the mind-stream, and necessarily exists. Like the collateral for a loan, there is such a thing that, when karma ceases, like the property of a loan being given to another, its maturation is held and remains without going to waste. Therefore, for the agent, whether in this life, the next life, or other times, the maturation and the result in accordance with the cause are offered without going to waste, and the agent will experience the result.
