So, is nirvana something that can be manifested by knowledge or language? Because it has already been explained before that knowledge or language is negated in the ultimate truth, it also explains that nirvana cannot be manifested, therefore it is not existent. To explain this, also, if nirvana is neither real nor unreal, then let it be as you wish. If it is said that "it is neither real nor unreal," then what can manifest it? Because it has already been explained before that the knowledge or language that manifests it is negated. It should be understood in this way, it is said in this way. Now, in the manner of the fourteen things that are not expressed, nirvana is not real, nor is it unreal, it is not expressed, nirvana is neither real, nor is it unreal, because there is no manifestation of bliss, so in order to explain that nirvana is not existent. Also, furthermore, after the Blessed One has passed into nirvana, it cannot be shown to exist, similarly, it cannot be shown to not exist or both, or neither. After the Tathagata has passed into nirvana, it cannot be shown to be existent, non-existent, both existent and non-existent, neither existent nor non-non-existent, it is said in this way, because it is unexpressed in this way. Therefore, this shows the refutation of the view that nirvana without remainder is neither real nor unreal. Even when the Blessed One was dwelling, it could not be shown to exist, similarly, it could not be shown to not exist or both, or neither. Even when the Tathagata was dwelling, it could not be shown to be existent, non-existent, both existent and non-existent, neither existent nor non-non-existent, it is said in this way, this is also because it is unexpressed in this way. This shows the refutation of the view that nirvana with remainder is neither real nor unreal. Thus, life is the body, and life is other, and the body is also other, until it cannot be shown, for the things that are not expressed, merely because they have not been negated, nirvana has not been established, therefore, the fault of the meaning of the reason not being established is not there, in this way it ends.

In conclusion, the fourteen unstated objects, because they are merely unstated and prohibited, therefore, Nirvana is neither a thing nor a non-thing. This statement is not established because there is no manifestation. Thus, Nirvana being a thing, being a non-thing, being both, and being neither, are not established. Therefore, the opponent previously said that if these formations are considered Nirvana, then it should be known that these formations are inherently existent in the ultimate sense, because by abandoning afflictions and ceasing name and form, Nirvana can be attained. The fault of this reasoning's meaning not being established has not disappeared. Here it is said that in the ultimate sense, Nirvana is only existent, because there is entry in order to attain birth, aging, sickness, and death. For non-existent things, it is not seen that there is entry in order to attain them, like a turtle's hair. For Nirvana, there is entry to cultivate the path in order to attain it, and therefore, in the ultimate sense, Nirvana is only existent. By saying this, the opponent believes that yogis enter the cultivation of the path in order to attain Nirvana, and abandon samsara, taking Nirvana. With the reason that there is a difference between samsara and Nirvana, in the ultimate sense, Nirvana is only existent. These are the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma that establishes, the example of the dissimilar side, the proximate combination, and the conclusion. Here, like a turtle's hair, for non-existent things, sentient beings do not enter in order to attain it, so it is not existent. However, for Nirvana, sentient beings enter the cultivation of the path in order to attain it, therefore, in the ultimate sense, Nirvana is only existent. They say this. In response to what they say, the commentator himself says here, if there is a difference, then it can be seen that one obtains another through another, for example, with the hand
