Having the eye of wisdom that is free from the darkness of the faults of views, such as not seeing things as real. Whoever sees dependent arising, sees suffering, as well as the origin, cessation, and path, that is, sees those. Depending on the way of conventional and ultimate truth, seeing and not seeing, seeing the nature of dependent arising as it has been taught, seeing that is seeing the birth of those four truths, and seeing the aspects such as non-birth as previously stated, thus it is said. Whoever sees dependent arising, sees the Dharma. Whoever sees the Dharma, sees the Buddha, as it is said. If seeing something other than the aspects of suffering etc., is not seeing the truth, this is the saying of one's own school. Seeing something other than dividing the four truths into sixteen aspects is not seeing the truth, this is what they say. In order to answer what they say, here, by way of commentary, the meaning expressed by the word "seeing the truth" is examined. If it is said that seeing the true nature of the inner sense bases, not inverted and not inverted, then, if the other party says that the meaning of the word "seeing the truth" is from the eye seeing form to the mind knowing Dharma, seeing the true nature of the inner sense bases, not inverted and not inverted, that is, the true nature of the four truths divided into sixteen aspects, then. In order to answer them, the commentator says, because birth has been prevented by the reason as stated, therefore seeing the non-birth of suffering etc.,

The idea that existence is absurd. In order to demonstrate its reasonableness, one should investigate how seeing suffering, etc., leads to seeing the truth, rather than accepting everything that is said casually, like a mother coaxing a child. As stated in the Sutra Pitaka, Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as unborn, fully understands suffering. Whoever sees all dharmas as impermanent, abandons accumulation. Whoever sees all dharmas as eternally extinguished, realizes cessation. Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as uncultivatable, cultivates the path. Similarly, the Blessed One said, Manjushri, if seeing suffering were the truth, then sentient beings in hell should also see the truth, because they would also distinguish and say: Alas, suffering! Alas, suffering! Similarly, Brahma Namaka also said: You should understand it this way, how suffering, accumulation, cessation, and path are not the truths of the noble ones, but rather, the unbornness of suffering, the non-accumulation of accumulation, the eternal cessation of all dharmas is eternal cessation, the equality of all dharmas is non-duality, whoever cultivates the path should know that is the truth of the noble ones. Etc., one should investigate how seeing suffering, etc., leads to seeing the truth, rather than a mother showing false punishment to coax a child, like saying "Come, child, come here, look at this," everything that those who are attached to their own sect, to views of things and non-things, etc., say casually should not be accepted. Here, the meaning of the debate is to debate by refuting the opponent's accusations against the emptiness proponents, that the argument put forward first only exists on the inconsistent side, thereby showing that the truths of the noble ones are without self-nature.

The word "is" is the conclusion and the fruit of valid cognition. In the twenty-fourth chapter of the Treatise on the Examination of the Truths of the Noble Ones, the meaning of examining the treatise, like the fruit of valid cognition, is because the opponents previously said to the Madhyamikas: If all these are empty, then there is no arising and no ceasing, then the four noble truths would not be established for you. To those who made such accusations, the Madhyamikas replied: Your own faults are completely transferred to me, just like forgetting the horse while riding it. In this way, through refutation, the opponents first proposed that in the ultimate truth, things only have inherent existence, because they are subject to arising and ceasing, and so on. For those who spoke like this, the contradictory aspect of establishing the ultimate truth exists only in the conventional truth. By showing this, it is shown that the truths of the noble ones are without inherent existence. What is the benefit of showing that the truths of the noble ones are without inherent existence? And, regarding showing this, others say that this is just a dry logical treatise. In order to eliminate this statement, the source of reliable scriptures must also be established here. Therefore, in the Sutra Requested by Brahma, the Noble One, it is said: Brahma, you should also understand in this way through these methods, that how suffering, origin, cessation, and path are not the truths of the noble ones, but Brahma, like this, the arising of suffering does not exist, this is the truth of the noble ones; the arising of origin does not exist, this is the truth of the noble ones; what is the complete cessation of all phenomena for the noble ones, this is the truth of the noble ones; what is the path of cultivating non-duality in the equality of all phenomena, one should know that this is the truth of the noble ones. Like this, the words that were spoken are all established, thus it is said. Like this, the establishment of these reliable scriptures is the merit and source of showing that the truths of the noble ones are without inherent existence. These are all explained in detail by this treatise.
