If someone accuses us Madhyamikas, saying that whatever has intrinsic existence is uncreated, therefore origination and so on are not reasonable for it. If they establish their own tenets by saying that whatever is without intrinsic existence is created by other conditions, therefore origination and so on are also reasonable for it. Then, if that is the case, it must be stated what kind of example there is for the uncreated that has intrinsic existence. If it cannot be stated, since the opposite of the third mode of reasoning has not been shown, your previous arguments will not be established. This is what they say. In order to answer what they say, here is an explanation: That is not reasonable. If we completely examine the opposite side, then we must also state the refuting argument. We are showing the argument that shows the lack of intrinsic existence, therefore, for this, whatever is created, that and that are seen as without intrinsic existence, like illusion. Similarly, the internal things are also created, therefore, they are also without intrinsic existence, I say. If something becomes intrinsically existent, then it is the uncreated nature that is the opposite of that. Therefore, the one who says that there is intrinsic existence must make a great effort to say that for the uncreated, there is intrinsic existence, for example, like this. Therefore, I said, "That is an outsider." Because we consider all things to be created, therefore, for the opposite of no intrinsic existence, that is, for the uncreated, there is intrinsic existence, for example, like this. If this is fully examined, then it is also necessary to state the refuting argument. For us Madhyamikas, because all things are created, we say that there is no intrinsic existence. For this, its opposite, that is, for the uncreated, there is intrinsic existence, for example, like this. Because there is no such thing, the argument does not naturally apply to things that have no opposite side, and this itself is the way to deviate from the opposite side. For things that have not been examined for the opposite side, it is not necessary to state the refuting argument. Our argument showing the lack of intrinsic existence, because it is created, is therefore without intrinsic existence, like illusion. Showing this, on the contrary, because it is uncreated, it has intrinsic existence.

Now, if there are some sayings like "for example like this," since that is your position, you who say that self-nature exists, if you say that self-nature exists without great effort, you must say "for example like this." Since you do not follow such a statement, therefore your words are like that. Now, in order to explain that in the position of those who say that self-nature exists, there will be worldly fruits, and the faults of not having Dharma and non-Dharma, etc. Furthermore, "The fruit born of Dharma and non-Dharma, you do not have it, the self-nature is inherent and does not depend on cause," thus it was said. If so, in order to explain that there will also be the fault of the fruit arising from no cause. Therefore, "If Dharma and non-Dharma are absent, the fruit will also be present in you," if so, it will contradict the world and the scriptures. If you think it is not okay to contradict those. If "The fruit born of Dharma and non-Dharma, if the fruit is really in you, why is the nature of the fruit born of Dharma and non-Dharma not empty?" Because what is born is emptiness, like an elephant created by illusion, the meaning of thinking like this is that if you think that the fruit is produced from a cause, you must admit that self-nature is emptiness. Now, in order to explain that if you say that self-nature exists, then there will also be the fault of harming all the worldly terms, like that, not only harming your own sect, but the worldly terms are "harming everything." "Make a vase! Build a house! Bring the white Lhasa Jin over here! Bind the offering scriptures! Vishnu's Nasaru fruit, squeeze out the milk and butter from Karzang!" etc., because it also harms all the worldly terms, for things like vases that are inherently self-natured, the action itself becomes meaningless. Now, if you say self-nature, then dependent origination cannot be established, and it also harms the action, the agent, and the actor.
