To show that it will become a fault, how is it? If suffering is not empty, because the nature of things is not made, then it will not be dependent arising. If that is the case, it is not possible to know its existence even in name, let alone in the ultimate truth. Therefore it is said: If it is not dependent arising, how can suffering exist? Because there is no impermanence in what is not dependent arising, it should not be suffering. This is what is meant. For that reason it is said: The impermanence and suffering that are spoken of are not self-existent. It is said in the Sutra that whatever is impermanent is suffering, which does not exist for things that exist by their own nature. To show that it will become the fault of not having the truth of origin. When suffering is self-existent, if it is not self-existent, what will become the origin? It will not become the origin, this is the meaning of this sentence. For example, would a noble one lie? Like this. Therefore, for those who harm emptiness, the origin does not exist. Because self-existence does not depend on causes, this is what is said. To show that it will become the fault of not having the truth of cessation. Furthermore, suffering is self-existent, and cessation does not exist. Because self-existence is omnipresent, cessation will cause harm. Because cessation is unreasonable for things that exist without being made by self-existence, this is what is meant, this is what is said. To show that it will become the fault of not having the truth of the path. Similarly, if the path is self-existent, practice is unreasonable. Practice is to repeatedly generate correct views and so on. If the path is completely established by self-existence, then arising is unreasonable, so practice is unreasonable, this is what is said. To show that if you do not want to become the fault of not having the four noble truths, do not cling to self-existence. Because you want to completely abandon the faults mentioned above, if the path is something to be practiced,

Your reality does not exist. If there is birth, then meditation will be well accomplished. Because birth is the absence of self-nature, and if self-nature does not exist, it will not arise, so it is said. Thus, if the Four Noble Truths do not exist, there will be the fault that it is impossible to attain Nirvana through the path, in order to show this reason. Thus, according to the way it is shown: When suffering and origination, and cessation do not exist, then what do you think can be attained by the cessation of suffering of the path? Because for suffering that has not arisen, cessation does not exist, this is a concluding statement, so it is said. Now, in order to show that for those who say that self-nature exists, there will be the fault of not being able to fully understand suffering. Furthermore, according to your view, suffering, if it is not fully understood by self-nature, then how can it be fully understood? Is it not that reality is permanent? If suffering is not fully understood by self-nature, then how can it be fully understood? Because in your doctrine, it is believed that self-nature is unchanging and permanent, so it is said. In order to show the fault of abandoning origination, realizing cessation, cultivating the path, and not having the four fruits of a contemplative. Thus, if suffering is not fully understood by self-nature, then because the fault is not fully understood, its cause, craving, is not abandoned by self-nature, so abandonment is unreasonable, and craving is not abandoned by self-nature, so abandonment is unreasonable, and craving is not abandoned by self-nature, so because there is no cessation of it, realizing cessation is unreasonable, and if there is no cessation, then the path leading to cessation is not cultivated by self-nature, so cultivating the path is unreasonable, thus, if there are no Four Noble Truths, then the four fruits of a contemplative are also unreasonable, just like fully understanding. Therefore it is said: Similarly, you yourself, abandonment and realization, and cultivation and the four fruits, are also not possible, just like fully understanding. For those that are not abandoned and realized, and cultivated by self-nature, those are unreasonable, and realization is unreasonable for those fruits that are not realized by self-nature, so inquire constantly.
