It is said, "It is not permissible to view emptiness as something as solid as Mount Meru, with the pride of manifest arrogance." This is stated in the Sutra of the Noble Heap of Jewels. Similarly, in the Sutra of the Noble Dense Array, it is also said: "If things were empty, they would become objects to be destroyed, not destruction. Attachment to persons and self, as solid as Mount Meru, would not be harmed." It is also said. Similarly, it is said, "One should not see form as empty, nor should one see it as non-empty," and so on, as stated in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra. Therefore, one should not cling to emptiness and things. Now, in order to show that all nominal designations, such as the Four Noble Truths and the Three Jewels, are reasonable for the Madhyamikas who say that all things are empty of inherent existence, furthermore, "For whom emptiness is possible, for him everything is possible." The word "everything" refers to birth and so on. The word "etcetera" includes the Four Truths, the Four Fruits of a Contemplative, the Four Abidings in the Fruit, the Four Enterers, the Three Jewels, the existence of worldly fruits, Dharma and non-Dharma, and all nominal designations. To show how these become possible, if asked how they become possible, just as for a magical person, the nature of a person is empty, so too the nature of existence and non-existence is empty, but if all the collections of conditions are present, birth will occur, and that is suffering. Seeing that suffering and so on, whatever is seen with the aspects of suffering, impermanence, emptiness, and selflessness, that is the Truth of Suffering. The cause of suffering is the arising of suffering, because it is the arising for that. Seeing that arising and so on, whatever is seen with the aspects of arising, production, cause, and condition, that is the Truth of Arising. The cessation of the cause of suffering is the Truth of Cessation, seeing that cessation and so on, whatever is seen with the aspects of cessation, peace, excellence, and definite departure

That is the Truth of Cessation. The means of eliminating the cause of suffering and attaining it is the path. That path, etc., whatever is seen through the aspects of path, reason, practice, and definite emergence, that is its Truth of the Path. Therefore, if there are four Noble Truths in this way, then the Dharma will also be established. Because all of those are understood by the self-arisen wisdom, and it is in accordance with what is taught to the Shravakas, the Buddha will also be accomplished, thus it is said. In order to show that the source of that is famous among the Shravakas, it is said: "Monks, I have not previously heard 'This is suffering,' etc., are the eye, knowledge, wisdom, and arising of intelligence," thus it is said. For all four truths, apply them appropriately in the same way. Now, in order to show how the four truths, etc., can be established in the manner of the Mahayana. Similarly, in the ultimate truth, seeing things such as the nature of illusion, etc., as unborn, that is seeing the Noble Truths, thus it is said. In order to show that the source of that is famous in the Mahayana, it is said: "Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as unborn, he completely knows suffering. Whoever sees all dharmas as not abiding, he has abandoned the origin. Whoever sees all dharmas as eternally extinguished, he has realized cessation. Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as not to be meditated upon, he has meditated on the path," thus it is said. In the Sutra of the Secret Inducement to Meditate on Noble Wisdom, it is said in that way. If the Noble Truths can also be established in the manner of the Mahayana, then the Dharma and all Buddhas will also be accomplished, so everything can be established, this is the conclusion. Now, in order to show that for those who say that their own schools, etc., are not emptiness, and who have fallen into the extremes of existence and non-existence, all of the Noble Truths, etc., cannot be established. One who speaks of non-emptiness, for whom emptiness is not established, for him everything is not established. For whoever speaks of non-emptiness, everything that is said in that way cannot be established, thus it is said.

Now, in order to explain that it is unreasonable for those who do not wish their own sectarian things to be without inherent existence to transfer their own faults, which cause all things such as the noble truths to become unreasonable, to the Madhyamikas. Your own faults are: transferring them to me, like forgetting the horse while clearly riding it. You transfer your own faults to me, like forgetting the horse while clearly riding it, thus he spoke. Now, in order to explain the reason for "For whom emptiness is unreasonable, for him everything becomes unreasonable." Just as not wishing for emptiness makes everything unreasonable, it should be said like this: If things are seen as existing from their own nature, then in your view, things are without cause and condition. Existing from inherent existence does not depend on cause and condition, thus he intended, thus he spoke. In order to explain the way of seeing without cause and condition, the fruit and the cause itself, the agent and the action and the object, arising and ceasing, also harm the fruit. Because without depending on cause and condition, the fruit and so on will not be established, thus he spoke. Now, in order to examine what is the emptiness that the outsiders, after fully examining the meaning of emptiness, are afraid of emptiness, and accuse and abandon it as unreasonable. You, for a while, fully examine the meaning of emptiness, and like a child who is afraid of the terrifying form of a demon, paints it vividly and then becomes afraid, uttering sounds of fear, what is that, thus he spoke. If the meaning of emptiness is dependent arising, without inherent existence, emptiness like illusion, then one should not be afraid of it. In order to show this, if its meaning is form, without things, the nature of emptiness like illusion, then abandon fear, thus he spoke. Then, why should one not be afraid? Whatever is dependent arising is without inherent existence.
