Also. (In order to) show the source of abandoning those inconsistencies such as emptiness, it is said, "Emptiness is definitely liberated from all views," like this it is said. In order to show that its source was made by the master Aryadeva, furthermore, if things have self-nature, what merit is there in seeing emptiness? Bound by conceptualization, seeing it by seeing, it should be refuted here. Like this it is said, if in the ultimate truth things exist by their own nature, then what merit is there in seeing emptiness? Like this, because self-nature does not change, there is no merit in seeing emptiness, if so, seeing emptiness has the merit of attaining liberation, therefore things do not exist by self-nature. If others say, if things do not have self-nature, then what merit is there in seeing emptiness? If views think that things exist, then seeing emptiness can eliminate these views, therefore seeing emptiness has the merit of eliminating views. The answer to this is: Bound by conceptualization, seeing it by seeing, it should be refuted here. The meaning here is, although all things are emptiness, but if one clings to non-emptiness, then beings bound by the bondage of samsara, seeing it by seeing it here, therefore, for clinging to non-emptiness, the conceptualization of being bound by samsara, should be refuted here, therefore seeing emptiness has merit. Therefore, those people say like this, if things do not exist in the ultimate truth, then how can afflictions and purification exist without cause? The answer to them is also: Bound by conceptualization, seeing it by seeing. This itself is the answer. For example, a wife who has married into another family, after hearing the news of her husband's death, thinks that now my husband is having sex with other women, if such a conceptualization arises, then with the unfounded conceptualization, one's own mind arises jealousy and hatred and is bound, these are all visible, even if things do not exist, the bondage of one's own conceptualization itself is the cause of afflictions, therefore it should be refuted here.

This should be done. If the nature of other-dependence exists, then since the nature is not abandoned, it is also impossible to abandon afflictions. Similarly, the noble Subhuti asked the Blessed One: "Blessed One, if in reality all things are empty, then how are ordinary beings established, and how is the difference between those who have been purified and destroyed established?" The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, for example, a person who is asleep dreams that he has been bitten by a poisonous snake, and is in great pain, so he takes poison as medicine, and knows that he has no cure, but in reality there is neither poison nor medicine. Similarly, in reality, for things that do not exist, afflictions and non-afflictions are separately established." Also, in the Sutra of the Descent into Lanka, it is said: "In the relative, things exist, but in the ultimate, they do not." The noble Mahamati asked: "If there is no self-nature in reality, then does the relative truth exist?" The Blessed One said: "Where there is no reality, what is delusion? That is called the relative truth." This means that because the nature of things is not fully understood, the delusion of clinging to the appearance of inherent existence is the relative truth. And that very absence of self-nature is the ultimate truth, therefore things attain nirvana because of the absence of self-nature. If it is said that it is neither of the two, and one engages in elaboration, then elaboration has not been abandoned. If this is said, then the other party says that saying it is neither of the two is also elaboration, therefore there is the fault of contradicting one's own promise. As an answer to that, it is said: "There is no fault in saying that, because one wants to refute elaboration other than that." Because one wants to refute emptiness and non-emptiness other than neither of the two. In order to show this example, for example, if one does not want sound, in order to refute other sounds, saying "do not make a sound" is not a fault. Or, in order to show the ultimate truth, the knowledge of the cause, the difference of the knowledge of convention.
