In order to refute the vows of those Vārupos who claim that it is not so, one should examine their true meaning, and state as before, and point out the faults of reasoning and examples as much as possible. It is stated thus: Here, if one says that, in the ultimate sense, the Tathāgata is not omniscient, because unmentioned things are not mentioned; because there was no persuasion for the beautiful one to die; because the Brahmin's daughter arrogantly slandered; because the destruction of the son of the red city (Raktapura) is uncertain; because the beginning of saṃsāra is invisible, therefore he himself admits that he does not know; because Devadatta was completely expelled; and "Because the knowable is infinite, he is not omniscient. Because there are others who know, there is no end. One cause and non-cause, cannot know everything," etc., the meaning of these arguments is not established. Why? Because, in the ultimate sense, unmentioned things, etc., have not arisen. For example, like an ordinary person. But the example that is said is also not established. Why? Because, in the ultimate sense, ordinary people have also not arisen, therefore there is the fault that the example's dharma is not established. However, if one says that, in the conventional sense, the Tathāgata is not omniscient, then what is the meaning of claiming "not omniscient"? Is it that he does not know everything, but only knows a little? Or does he not know anything at all? If one understands it according to the former examination, then what does he want to know? If it is said to be beyond the senses, then he knows it now, because it is knowable, just like placing a spotless jewel, etc., in one's own palm. If one understands it according to the latter examination, then this contradicts the previous view, and contradicts fame, because he admits that this is not a non-human, and examples like ordinary people, etc., in the world are not feasible, because they also know some things. One should refute as much as possible according to the previously stated reasoning. In short, these are general answers to all refuters. Now, the previous debaters say: The knowable is infinite, all

It is not so! To refute those arguments that object with reasons such as "not the earth," we will now show how to answer them one by one. Just as the sky is always, pervading all tangible things, similarly, wisdom is like the sky, and it is considered to pervade all that is knowable. Because the knower and the known are equal, all Buddhas are established as omniscient. There is no possibility of there being no Buddha, because the scriptures say that wisdom has subtle parts. Because in these worlds, I say, "I am a knowledgeable fool," because knowledge applies to oneself, there is no contradiction in knowing oneself. He knows the Samkhya system completely by saying, "I and the self are five." The essence is also completely known, just as a lamp illuminates itself. It is also evident that one (Buddha) can completely know many things. Because the teacher has eyes, he is not like many blind people. In explaining the teachings of the Victorious One, there is no specific aim in the combination, because the Vedas are not the path to nirvana, and therefore, even if they know, they do not teach it. If there is peace in the Vedas because there is immortality, that is not reasonable; that is a wrong view, because it is considering impermanence as permanence. Because what they imagine as immortality is actually impermanent. As it is said, in the places of fire, one sees the half-moon and the full moon performing sacrifices, and performing the four-month sacrifice every four months, and performing the animal sacrifice every six months, and performing the herb sacrifice every year, and performing fire offerings and enjoying desires every hundred years, and so on. Those that are spoken of as names for the duration of years in the world are actually impermanent. The Vedas have three meanings: auspicious words, praise, and rituals. Among them, auspicious words are: May the upper realm be peaceful! May the intermediate space be peaceful! May the earth be peaceful! May the water be peaceful! and so on. Praise is: Blue in color, red in throat, black in color, devouring burnt offerings, dispelling the darkness of all beings, that (deity) always transcends everything! and so on. Rituals are offerings of ghee and offerings of grains, and so on. Through these three meanings, liberation cannot be attained anywhere.
