Therefore, in reality, only the Tathagata exists. Like this, not prophesying this is uncommon to you Madhyamikas, and it is something that we ourselves can infer. Therefore, the reason you Madhyamikas establish that the Tathagata does not exist, and the reason we establish that the Tathagata exists, between these two, there exists a harm that is not contradictory, without error, so it is not as certain as you wish. They say this. In order to answer what they said, here the commentator himself says: The Tathagata did not prophesy the difference in the taste of the fruit of the mango tree that grows from inside the building, etc., because these are contrary to the meaning of the reason, so that is unreasonable, therefore there is no harm from later debaters, nor is it something that can be inferred by oneself. Thus it is said. Therefore, the example of not prophesying the difference in the taste of mango fruit shows the opponent's reason, that because the Tathagata's non-existence was not prophesied, therefore that meaning itself is contradictory. Its origin is that once a king came to the abbot Pilindavatsa and said: Holy one, please ask. Like this, the practitioners said a lot. The abbot said: Great king, please ask. The king said: Am I permanent or impermanent? The abbot said: I also want to ask you. Like this, the kings said a lot. The king said: Holy one, please ask. The abbot said: What about the fruit of the mango tree that grows in your building? What is the difference in taste? The king said: There is not even a mango tree in my building, where would there be a difference in the taste of the fruit? The abbot said: Like the mango tree, so am I. Like the difference in taste, so are permanence and impermanence. This example from the scripture explains that the Blessed One did not prophesy, because he spoke of the meaning of non-existence. Therefore, here, you say that because the Tathagata did not prophesy non-existence, therefore this reason proves that the Tathagata was not prophesied.
