Whatever mind arises from a place, and whatever mind arises from transformation, that is uncharacterized, it is neither a virtuous mind, nor a non-virtuous mind, the mental action is uncharacterized. That which is uncharacterized is the seed that gives rise to the uncharacterized results that are similar in cause in this life and others, and that gives rise to the uncharacterized actions of body and speech. In short, that is the characteristic of mental action that is uncharacterized in relation to its result. Similarly, in contrast to the characteristics of Dharma and non-Dharma as mentioned above, whatever is born from maturation, and whatever arises from conduct, and whatever arises from skill, and whatever is aroused by the mind that arises from transformation, those are also uncharacterized, being neither virtuous nor non-virtuous. Therefore, the actions of body and speech that are aroused are also uncharacterized. Those uncharacterized actions are also the seeds of uncharacterized results that are similar in cause in this life and others. Those are the characteristics of the uncharacterized actions of body and speech in relation to their result. Thus, the actions of body, speech, and mind, virtuous, non-virtuous, and uncharacterized, become the seeds of results in this life and others, those are said to be the characteristics of action. Now, I will explain the meaning of the limbs of that verse. The term "well-guarded self" means to guard oneself well and to turn away from non-virtue, that is, to abandon non-virtue, the mind that is in accordance with that is its synonym. The phrase "what is the well-guarded self mind?" is connected, and thereby it shows the virtue of mental action. The term "benefiting others" means giving, speaking sweetly, saving from fear, and so on, benefiting other beings. The phrase "what is the mind that benefits others?" is connected, and thereby it shows the virtue of mental action, and the virtuous actions of body and speech that are aroused by it. The term "loving-kindness" arises from friendship,

That's all. Or, love itself is love. In order to express the corresponding cause in my meaning, it is called corresponding to the mind of love. The word love is because the mind of love existing in one's own continuum arises in the realm of friendly others, so it is love. Is it for the sake of others, to express the cause of words corresponding to others? Or is it that the mind of love existing in one's own continuum is love itself, so it is love, for one's own sake, to express the cause of words corresponding to oneself. What is such a mind, that is the nature of Dharma, which is called the mind that is good at taming oneself, the mind that benefits others, and what is the mind of love, that is the Dharma, is the good karma of the mind. That is the seed, the synonym of cause and condition, which is called, the Dharma is the ripening in this life and the next, and the similar fruit, the lovely, the desired, the pleasing, and the good deeds of body and speech, are all the seeds that arise.

In short, "for the sake of arising the actions of body and speech" explains that being well-disciplined, benefiting others, and loving-kindness are the mind of the fruit, and also the cause for arising the actions of body and speech. For the moment, this is explaining the meaning of the limbs of the verse, being well-disciplined, benefiting others, and loving-kindness, these three are the virtuous actions of the mind, showing the characteristics related to the fruit. Here, the actions of the mind are only examples, and the virtuous actions of body and speech arising from them, the characteristics related to the fruit, should also be combined and stated as before, as appropriate. These virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind will become the seeds of the fruit in this life and others, therefore it is an explanation of the characteristics of karma. To explain non-dharma by being contrary to dharma, that is to say, being well-disciplined, benefiting others, and the mind of loving-kindness, these characteristics of the virtuous actions of the mind related to the fruit, and the dharma of the characteristics of the virtuous actions of body and speech arising from them related to the fruit, as mentioned before, contrary to these, is not being well-disciplined, not benefiting others, and having a mind of hatred, these characteristics of the non-virtuous actions of the mind related to the fruit, and the non-dharma of the characteristics of the non-virtuous actions of body and speech arising from them related to the fruit, should also be understood as before. These non-virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind will become the seeds of the fruit in this life and others, therefore it is an explanation of the characteristics of karma. "Non-dharma, sin, and non-virtue" these are synonyms, this is an explanation of the meaning of the word "non-dharma." To explain the synonyms of dharma by being contrary to non-dharma, this is an explanation of the meaning of the word "dharma," the words "dharma and non-sin and virtue" should be combined. "What is not explained is born from maturation, and born from conduct, and born from skillful means, and from transformation."
