“Neither cessation nor, is it also unborn.” This explains that previously, the Vaibhashikas asserted that even before the fruit arises, the nature of the fruit is not empty. To refute this assertion, the verse as previously shown is now explained in another way. This shows that the Vaibhashikas' assertion that the fruit is not empty, for the Madhyamikas who view all phenomena as emptiness of inherent existence in the ultimate truth, even in conventional truth, it is not known to exist like a flower in the sky. Therefore, if it is said that there is a little non-emptiness of the fruit, then because non-emptiness does not exist, it is impossible for that which does not exist to have arising and ceasing. Therefore, non-emptiness does not exist. If the fruit is emptiness, then arising and ceasing are also reasonable, like an illusion, the inherent existence is non-existent. Therefore, it should be said that the inherent existence of the fruit is non-existent. This is also connected in this way: We Madhyamikas observe the ultimate truth, therefore all dependent arising phenomena are empty of inherent existence in the ultimate truth. Therefore, if there is a little non-emptiness, then it would contradict emptiness. Therefore, such a non-empty thing is not known to exist even in conventional truth, like a flower in the sky. The non-empty fruit does not arise, the non-empty does not cease. Thus it is said, if it is said that there is a little non-emptiness of the fruit, then because non-emptiness is fundamentally impossible like a flower in the sky, it is impossible for it to have arising and ceasing. Therefore, non-emptiness does not exist. If that is the case, “That non-empty neither ceases nor, is it also unborn.” This explains that if the non-empty fruit does not exist, then it will not arise and cease. Therefore, if it is said that non-emptiness exists, then it will also have the fault of non-cessation and non-birth. Therefore, it is explained that non-emptiness does not exist. To explain this in more detail, it shows that if it is non-empty, then it would lead to the fault of no arising and no ceasing. If it is emptiness, then the arising of the fruit

And because it possesses the dharma of arising and ceasing, it is to be established, and it is said that it is manifest by the dharma of proof. This meaning of the context of the verse specifically shows that the Vaibhashikas are not empty, and inferring non-emptiness by inference is impossible for the Madhyamikas, so for them, it would become the fault of having no arising and ceasing. If (the result) is emptiness, then because it possesses the dharma of arising and ceasing, the dharma to be established is emptiness, and the dharma of proof is manifest with arising and ceasing, and this is how the inference should be made. In order to show that inference, in the ultimate sense, the result is emptiness, because of arising and ceasing, like an illusion, it should be said. Those are the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma of proof, and the example, to be connected in order. For example, illusion is emptiness because of arising and ceasing, just as the result is also emptiness because of arising and ceasing. Thus, the result is empty and without self-nature, and the cause should also be said to be empty and without self-nature. Similarly, if the result becomes a nature of non-existence, then even in name, there is no arising and no ceasing, because of non-existence, like a flower in the sky. How can emptiness arise, how can emptiness cease? This verse is to refute the previous Lokayatas who said that the result did not exist before, and that one did not exist for the other, and that it was empty. To refute them, half of the verse, as stated, shows that the meaning is explained in another way. This shows that the Lokayatas considered the result to be empty, and that emptiness is inferred by inference, and for them, even in name, like a flower in the sky, it becomes the fault of having no arising and ceasing, so that emptiness does not arise and cease without cause. If the result is not empty, then for it, arising and ceasing are also reasonable, and it is not arising and ceasing without cause, just as the cause is not the dharma of arising and ceasing, therefore it is not arising and ceasing without cause.
