The so-called "The ground is the nature of emptiness, and even if it arises, it does not have the nature of other things," etc., refers to the fact that in the Lokayata, from the perspective of the self (soul), what was not before and what is devoid of one another, it is believed that all things are empty, because the result is of a nature that does not exist before it arises, so the nature of the emptiness of the result is what was not before. Even if the result arises now, just as there is no non-grain thing in the nature of grain, the result does not have the nature of other things, which is being devoid of one another. Therefore, what was not before arises from no cause in the manner of not existing before arising, and what is devoid of one another ceases without cause in the manner of excluding others. Now, things merely appear to arise and cease, but there is no cause and effect. Now, in order to refute them, the emptiness that was not before will become the fault of not having arising and ceasing, so they do not accept arising and ceasing without cause. The thing of the result arises from the cause and is the dharma of self-nature ceasing, so it is not the nature of non-existence. Thus, through the result not being the nature of non-existence, the cause is also not the nature of non-existence, so in the ultimate sense, the nature of non-existence will not arise and cease without cause. Therefore, it should also be said to them, "How can emptiness arise, and how can emptiness cease?" This is what was said. They believe that the Lokayata believes that the emptiness that was not before arises from no cause, to which, how can emptiness arise? To the emptiness that is devoid of one another will cease without cause, how can emptiness cease? This is to show the refutation in order. Among them, first, for the emptiness that was not before arises from no cause, in order to show that emptiness should not arise, therefore it is said that in the ultimate sense, emptiness should not arise, because it does not exist, like a flower in the sky. These are the subject (dharma possessing), the proposition to be established (probandum), the reason for establishing (sadhana), and the example, which are in order.

And there apply it. For example, just as a sky-flower does not arise because it does not exist, so too, the emptiness of prior non-existence does not arise because it does not exist. Therefore, the emptiness of prior non-existence is unborn and should not arise from a cause. Now, in order to show that emptiness, which is empty because one thing is absent from another, should not cease without a cause, an inference can be made as follows. In the ultimate sense, the nature of a result lacks things that are not results, so it should not cease, because it lacks things that are not results, just as there is absence from something that is not a result. Having said this, those should also be combined in order as the subject, the thing to be proven, the proving thing, and the example. For example, absence from things that are not results, such as a vase, does not cease because it lacks things that are not results. Similarly, the nature of a result also lacks things that are not results, and because it lacks things that are not results, it should not cease. Therefore, emptiness, which is empty because one thing is absent, is unceasing and should not cease without a cause. Therefore, by reversing that gap-filled statement, the meaning of the occasion is shown as follows: If worldly extremists assert that the emptiness of prior non-existence arises from a causeless cause, and that emptiness, which is empty because one thing is absent from another, ceases without a cause, then they will have the fault of being unborn and unceasing. Therefore, they should not assert that arising and ceasing are causeless, because the nature of a result is that it arises from a cause and ceases by its own and another's nature, so it is not the nature of non-existence. Thus, through the door of not being the nature of the non-existence of a result, the cause is also not the nature of non-existence. Therefore, in the ultimate sense, the nature of non-existence should not arise and cease without a cause, as shown. Furthermore, we rely on the ultimate truth, so we say that emptiness, which is the nature of dependent arising, is empty by emptiness. If there were even a little that was not empty, then that would become contradictory. Therefore, such a thing is not established even in conventional terms, like a sky-flower. Therefore, a result that is not empty does not arise, and what is not empty does not cease. Thus, what is not empty is
