Those vast arguments, because their own reasons cannot be grasped. If "because they cannot be inferred" is added to "because their own reasons cannot be grasped," the fault of "meaning not established" will be committed. In order to completely avoid this fault, here it is said, "because their own reasons cannot be grasped," because that is not an obvious grasp, so even if one says "because it cannot be grasped by the obvious alone," which is a statement with a difference in reason, the meaning of the reason is still uncertain. Because things that are not obvious grasps can also be grasped by inference. When saying "because things that are not obvious grasps can also be grasped by inference," even if a statement of reason is made there, we Madhyamikas, even if we say a reason with a difference, its meaning is not uncertain. Like this, we previously said, therefore, inference is that the aggregate of seeds, etc., itself does not have what is called fruit, sprout, etc., because it cannot be grasped there. Where something cannot be grasped, that thing is not there, just as there is no cloth on a vase. The sprout is the same on the aggregate itself, therefore, the aggregate of seeds, etc., itself does not have what is called fruit, sprout, etc., it should be grasped in this way. According to the way shown above, from inference, from the aggregate of seeds, etc., itself, fruit, sprout, etc., exist previously in the form of potential, you cannot prove that it exists, therefore, your reason "things that are not obvious grasps can also be grasped by inference" itself is uncertain, therefore, it cannot prove that my reason "because it cannot be grasped by the obvious alone," which is a statement with a difference in reason, its meaning is uncertain, therefore, my reason with a difference is not uncertain. Why? Because it cannot be grasped by the obvious alone, for example, things that are not obvious grasps, in terms of place, time, and nature, ages can be grasped by inference, similarly, the aggregate of seeds, etc., itself, fruit, sprout, etc., in terms of potential

Is it the case that, in terms of manner, something that exists previously and is not apprehended by direct perception will also become apprehended by inference? Or, because it cannot be apprehended by direct perception alone, just as in the manner I previously demonstrated, it is not possible to show its existence from inference, just as the collection of seeds, etc., itself is called fruit, sprout, etc., something not apprehended by direct perception may not necessarily become something that cannot be apprehended by inference either. Therefore, your reason, "because even an object not apprehended by direct perception is apprehended by inference," is itself uncertain. Therefore, it cannot prove that my reason, "because it cannot be apprehended by direct perception alone," which is a reason with a specific qualification, is uncertain. Therefore, my reason with a specific qualification is not uncertain. Furthermore, in the context of the doctrine of non-origination, the Samkhyas assert that the effect exists and arises. In order to show the refutation of that doctrine,

It should be considered that earth does not exist, because it is invisible. If someone says that this reason is because all direct perception, inference, and valid cognition, in all circumstances, are invisible, then because he has already admitted the meaning of the reason, inference is also invisible, therefore the meaning of my reason is not established. If it is said that not being suppressed and being coarse themselves arise from non-existence, therefore this would lead to saying that the effect is previously non-existent. Because previously the Samkhyas said that although things exist, they do not appear because they are suppressed and minute. These two reasons cannot be used as a reason for the pre-existence of the effect in the cause, but would lead to becoming an argument that the effect arises from what was previously non-existent. Just like the Samkhya's argument, for example, the light of the sun overwhelms the appearance of planets, stars, and starlight, but this does not mean that they do not exist, but because they are overwhelmed they do not appear. When they are free from the condition of being overwhelmed, they will appear clearly in the nature of not being overwhelmed. Also, like smoke, dust, and gnats, etc., floating in the sky, although they do not appear, it is not that they do not exist, but because they are minute they do not appear. When they are free from the condition of becoming minute, they will appear in the nature of being coarse. Similarly, the collection of seeds, etc., the fruit called sprout, etc., its ability exists previously, but it is only because it is suppressed or minute that it does not appear, but this does not mean that it does not exist. When they are free from the condition of being suppressed and becoming minute, not being suppressed and being coarse themselves will appear in the nature of being manifest. Therefore, not being suppressed and being coarse, which did not exist in the state of being previously suppressed and minute, later arise from the condition of not being suppressed and being coarse, therefore they arise from non-existence. Therefore, this cannot be used as a reason for the Samkhyas who believe in the pre-existence of the effect in the cause, but is a reason for the Buddhists who believe that the effect is previously non-existent.
