Also knowing that there is, therefore, since there is nothing that can be grasped by direct perception, for example, just as cloth is to a pot, should it be considered that there is no fruit, namely sprouts, etc., in the collection of seeds, etc., itself? Or, since there is nothing that can be grasped by direct perception, for example, just as it is only the senses, should it be considered that there is indeed fruit, namely sprouts, etc., in the collection of seeds, etc., itself, which is uncertain, if the meaning of the reason of the Madhyamikas is because there is nothing that can be grasped by direct perception, then that is uncertain. If it is said that it is because there is nothing that can be grasped by inference, then that is unestablished, that is to say, if the reason of the Madhyamikas is because there is nothing that can be grasped, then if it is said that it is because there is nothing that can be grasped by inference, then that is unestablished. Like this, from the collection of causes such as seeds, etc., it can be grasped by inference that there is the ability of fruit, namely sprouts, etc., that is what the scripture says to show. In order to show the inference of that itself. Like this, from inference, the cause should be considered not to be empty of the fruit, because it has measure. Whatever has measure, it is not empty, for example, like the nature of the fruit. Similarly, the cause is also happiness and suffering and the three ignorances, and the five sounds, etc., and one, etc., because the measure of the cause is measurable, therefore, the cause is because it has measure, so it is not empty of the fruit, it is said. Those are the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma that can establish, the example of the similar side, the combination of proximity, and the conclusion, combined in order. For example, just like the nature of the fruit, whatever has measure, it is not empty of that fruit itself, similarly, the cause is also the change of the three natures of courage and dust and darkness, and the three limbs of happiness and suffering and ignorance, and the five sounds, etc., and one called the chief, and those, etc., belonging to the nature of the cause are measurable, therefore, the cause is because it has measure, so the ability of the fruit does not make the seed empty, seeds, etc.

Because it can be understood through inference that the aggregation of seeds, etc., inherently possesses the fruit, sprout, etc. If it is said that the Madhyamika's reasoning cannot be understood through inference, then it is unestablished. If it is said that because it is not apprehended by direct perception, it cannot be understood solely through direct perception, even if a reason with distinctions is stated, the meaning of the reason is uncertain. Because even objects not apprehended by direct perception can be understood through inference. The Samkhyas say, if Buddhists say that their own reasoning cannot be understood, if it is interpreted as not being understood through inference, then in order to completely avoid the fault of being unestablished, here it is said that one's own reasoning cannot be understood, if it is said that because it is not apprehended by direct perception, it cannot be understood solely through direct perception, even if a reason with distinctions is stated, the meaning of the reason is uncertain. Like this, here, objects not apprehended by direct perception, even kalpas in terms of place, time, and nature, can be understood through inference, therefore, why must it be assumed that the aggregation of seeds, etc., does not inherently possess the fruit, sprout, etc., like wrapping a cloth around a pot? Or, because it cannot be understood solely through direct perception, just as objects not apprehended by direct perception, even kalpas in terms of place, time, and nature, can be understood through inference, the aggregation of seeds, etc., inherently possesses the fruit, sprout, etc., and can be understood through inference, this is uncertain. Therefore, the Madhyamikas say that because it is not apprehended by direct perception, it cannot be understood solely through direct perception, even if a reason with distinctions is stated, the meaning of the reason is uncertain, so it is not permissible. If it is understood as not being understood in any way, then that itself has the fault of being unestablished. This is the view of the Samkhyas.
