And it is the fruit of valid cognition. In the sixth chapter on the examination of desire and attachment, regarding the meaning of this distinction as the fruit of valid cognition is because the opponents establish the aggregates, elements, and sources as truly existent. The Blessed One, relying on these, taught all afflictions and faults. Therefore, the faults of the establishment of those who speak such things are stated, and it is shown that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent nature. In order to show what qualities there are in showing that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent nature, and in order to refute others who say that it has only been accomplished with dry treatises, here also it should be established by a source of trustworthy scripture. Therefore, in all the Mahayana sutras, Manjushri! There is no desire. There is no designation of desire. There is no hatred. There is no designation of hatred. There is no delusion. There is no designation of delusion. Desire is enlightenment. Hatred is enlightenment. Delusion is enlightenment. How does one truly enter? When one does not enter in order to exhaust desire, does not enter in order to exhaust hatred, does not enter in order to exhaust delusion, at that time, one truly enters. The past mind does not cling, and the future mind also does not cling, because it has passed and has not yet come. The present mind also does not cling, because the present has no abiding. The meaning of the scriptures spoken in this way has been established, and the source of the meaning of the trustworthy scriptures has established that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent nature. Similarly, in the Sutra Requested by Supreme Intellect Power, the Blessed One, the Mother of Transcendent Knowledge, said: Supreme Intellect Power! Is form of the nature of desire? It is not of the nature of being free from desire. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are also of the nature of desire.

Namo. (Homage) Is form of the nature of attachment? It is not of the nature of detachment. Whatever form is not of the nature of attachment and is not of the nature of detachment is the Perfection of Wisdom. Whatever feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not of the nature of attachment and are not of the nature of detachment is the Perfection of Wisdom. Is form of the nature of hatred? It is not of the nature of detachment from hatred. Are feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness also of the nature of hatred? They are not of the nature of detachment from hatred. Whatever form is not of the nature of hatred and is not of the nature of detachment from hatred is the Perfection of Wisdom. Whatever feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not of the nature of hatred and are not of the nature of detachment from hatred is the Perfection of Wisdom. Is form of the nature of delusion? It is not of the nature of detachment from delusion. Are feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness also of the nature of delusion? Whatever feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not of the nature of delusion and are not of the nature of detachment from delusion is the Perfection of Wisdom. Form, subdued by the power of wisdom, is not completely defiled or completely purified. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are also not completely defiled or completely purified. Whatever form is not completely defiled and not completely purified is the Perfection of Wisdom. Whatever feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not completely defiled and not completely purified is the Perfection of Wisdom. What is said like this and so on, those are established, and this is the basis of the scripture.

These meanings and so on are also established, and it is also established by trustworthy sources of scripture and so on that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent existence. Thus, the establishment of these trustworthy scriptures is the merit of showing that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent existence. Thus, from the infinite Mahayana sutras, it is shown that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent existence, and these are shown by this treatise to be the object of establishment, which is the wisdom of the teacher. Therefore, I do not show that all phenomena such as desire and attachment are without inherent existence by my own thoughts, but only by dry speculation, but these scriptures also exist. The sixth chapter of the commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, Lamp of Wisdom, composed by the teacher Lekdenjé, called "Examination of Desire and Attachment," is completed by the teacher Chenrezik Tultshuk. Now, in order to refute the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness, and to show that the aggregates and so on are without inherent existence, the seventh chapter will be composed. The word "by means of" should be regarded here as the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition, and as the meaning of connecting with the text below. The meaning of the words is the same as before. Among them, taking the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition as important, it is said, "Now, in order to refute the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness." Because the author of the treatise made a proposition that all things are unborn when composing the first chapter, the Examination of Conditions. Therefore, here too, as the author of the treatise previously made a proposition, taking the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition as important, it is said that emptiness is one's own school. Its opposing side is the school that refutes, for example, claiming that the aggregates, elements, and sources have inherent existence. The so-called "distinction" refers to the aspect in which the other party previously showed the existence of the aggregates, elements, and sources.
