How is it? For this, a cow is different from a horse, and a horse is different from a cow. Wherever there is difference, there is simultaneity. And the difference of a cow and the difference of a horse must also exist simultaneously without a companion. If this is the case, then examining simultaneity becomes meaningless. This is what the sthavira Buddhapālita said: If different, simultaneous, then even without a companion, it will become so. This is how the latter half of the verse is explained. Some say that this is also unreasonable, just as answered before. This is what the commentator said in order to refute that the explanation of the sthavira Buddhapālita is unreasonable. Why is it unreasonable? Because it does not belong to the category of establishing and refuting, and because they want to say those things, they should say those things, but they did not say them. Just as answered before. This is the thirty-seventh chapter. Also, if different, simultaneous, what is the use of desire for attachment? This is saying that if difference does not exist only in mere desire, nor does it exist only in mere attachment, but is a common result of both arising simultaneously, then it exists in the case where both arise simultaneously. If you say so, then there will be other faults, so it is not allowed. What is the use of simultaneity? This is saying that if you think so, then what can the so-called simultaneity prove well for desire and attachment, which are different things? Simultaneity cannot prove that desire and attachment, which are different things, exist simultaneously. This is a summary statement. Why? Because there is no simultaneity between them. Because they are different, like desire and things without desire, it will become an obstacle to inference. This has already been explained. Before, if it is really difference, then how can it become simultaneity? It has already been explained when establishing this point. There is also an explanation that if it has been established as difference, then difference is mutual independence.

Du'o. The term "nyid du" means to attain self-nature. Therefore, these two change together. The term "zhes bya ba ni" means that when the other party, as they wish, considers difference to exist, if it is examined that those two arise simultaneously, then those two will be completely established as difference, and then afterwards it will be imagined as simultaneity. In order to show that such an assumption is unreasonable, with your wisdom say: If desire and attachment, become established as difference, then why would one fully imagine their simultaneity? It is said, "Desire and attachment, tend towards zhis bya bar." If you think like this, if desire and attachment are established as different things, then for those two mental illnesses, the simultaneous thing does not match the different thing, why would one completely imagine it meaninglessly? There is no need, this is the concluding remark. If it is said that the desire of this attachment is attached because of this desire, and there is a need for a characteristic of dependence, then, if the other party says that even if it is difference, but when examining simultaneity, there is such a need for a characteristic of dependence, then, as a response to that, it is said, "Therefore, desire and attachment, in order to refute difference, because it is a reason with dependence," even with unhappy wisdom, one cannot examine that the meaning is not established. Therefore, before I said, if desire is before, and attachment without desire exists, etc., when establishing, attachment is of a nature that it will not arise without desire, because it has dependence, for example, just like the self-nature of desire, for what is said, even if you use unhappy wisdom, you cannot examine that the meaning of my reason is not established, so your assumption is unreasonable. Furthermore, I used "if desire is before, and attachment without desire exists" etc., to explain that it is impossible for desire and attachment to have difference, and you, in order to strongly establish desire and attachment, therefore rely on the simultaneity of those two. For that, I also said, desire and
