That side also shows the reason for establishing the Dharma, which is dependent. Therefore, inference is that, in reality, desire and defilement are the same, but not coexistent, because they are dependent, like the nature of desire itself. These are respectively related to the subject, the Dharma to be established, the establishing Dharma, and the analogy in order. For example, the nature of desire, because it is dependent on its own nature, is not coexistent with its own nature. Similarly, desire and defilement are the same, because they are dependent, so they are not coexistent. To this, others say that if desire and defilement are temporarily the same, but if they become coexistent, then even without a companion, they will become coexistent. How to understand it? To this, one tends to be unique, then the one said by one cow and one horse also tends to the cow and also tends to the horse, so wherever there is one, there is coexistence, and the unique cow and the unique horse will become coexistent even without a companion. If so, then examining coexistence becomes meaningless, which is what the permanent Buddha-protected said. If the unique is simultaneous, then it will become like that without a companion. Relate this half of the verse to that kind of explanation. Some people say that it is unreasonable, because there are loopholes, which do not belong to the category of establishment and refutation, and because those who want to say, so those should be said, because those are not said. This is the words of the interpreter refuting that the explanation of the permanent Buddha-protected is unreasonable. Why is that unreasonable? Because the explanation of the permanent Buddha-protected is only a leaky word, and the leaky one does not belong to the category of establishing one's own sect, nor does it belong to the category of refuting other people's sects. Because there is neither establishing one's own sect nor refuting other people's sects there.

Because there is no way to establish it, it is unreasonable. Furthermore, those who want to speak about establishing their own tenets and refuting the tenets of others should state those tenets themselves. However, because the venerable Buddhapalita did not state them, there is no valid inference, and one's own tenets cannot be established, nor can the tenets of others be refuted. Therefore, it is unreasonable. Thus, for the moment, oneness and co-emergence are not reasonable. Similarly, "If different, co-emergent, even without a companion, it would become that." This means that if desire and attachment are different entities, but are also considered to be co-emergent, then even without a companion, they would become what is called co-emergent, which is not acceptable. The context is that desire and attachment are co-emergent. "If different, co-emergent, even without a companion, it would become that." This means that if desire and attachment are different entities, but are also considered to be co-emergent, then even without a companion, they would become what is called co-emergent. The statement that desire or attachment is not considered to be co-emergent without a companion is a vow. This also shows that desire and attachment are something that must be refuted as co-emergent, and that they have a dependence. This aspect of the vow also shows that the dharma that establishes it, that is, the reason, has a dependence. Therefore, inference does not actually consider desire and attachment to be different entities and to have co-emergence, because they have a dependence, like cause and effect. These should be connected in order with the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma that establishes, and the example. For example, because cause and effect have a dependence, they are not considered to have co-emergence. Similarly, although desire and attachment are different entities, because they have a dependence, they are also not considered to have co-emergence. Regarding this, others say that even if they are different entities, if they become co-emergent, then even without a companion, they would become co-emergent.
