Saying "This is the left one, this is the right one," seeing that one relies on a special statement, even so, it is uncertain. Saying, if you Madhyamikas establish that because you rely on a special statement, there is no simultaneous entity, then your reason, "because it is dependent," is also uncertain in meaning. Just like this, in the world, the two horns of a cow that arise simultaneously, also because of dependence, seeing the special statement saying "This is the left one, this is the right one," then, because of dependence, just like seeds and sprouts, do desire and attachment not have simultaneous entities? Or because of dependence, just like the horns of a cow, it is uncertain whether desire and attachment have simultaneous entities. Your reason, "because it is dependent," is uncertain in meaning, so it is not valid, so they say. In response to that saying, here it is explained that mind and mental events, as well as lamps and light, arise only from the power of the aggregate sense, and because simultaneous entities are not accepted even in name, and because the two horns of a cow are not established in reality, there is no fault in what was said. Arising and relying on special statements, those are dependent, but there are no simultaneous entities, therefore my reason is in accordance with the meaning, so my reason, "because it is dependent," is not uncertain, thus it is shown. Just like this, mind and mental events also arise only from the power of their own respective causes, such as the eye and form, light and space, and the aggregate of attention, etc., therefore, because they are dependent on their own respective causes, if those are under the control of the causes, they are not simultaneous causes, therefore, because it is not accepted even in conventional terms that those have simultaneous entities, mind and mental events are also dependent on their own respective causes, just like seeds and sprouts, those are simultaneous.

There is no such thing as being together. Lamps and light also arise solely from the power of the aggregation of their respective causes, such as oil, wicks, and lampstands. Because they depend on their respective causes, they are also subject to the power of the causes of their production, and are not causes that arise together. Therefore, even in conventional terms, they are not acknowledged to have things that are together. Lamps and light also depend on their respective causes, just like seeds and sprouts. Therefore, those things also do not have things that are together. Even if it is argued that the meaning of my reasoning is that because it depends on arising, there is no such thing as being together, for example, seeds and sprouts do not have things that are together because they are interdependent. Similarly, attachment and desire are also interdependent, so they also do not have things that are together. This is the same, so it is not uncertain. The special expression like a bull's horn is because it is not established in the ultimate truth in my school. Therefore, I assert that attachment and desire are interdependent, so in the ultimate truth, they do not have things that are together. There is no contradictory aspect, namely the bull's horn. Therefore, why is it that because they are interdependent, attachment and desire do not have things that are together, like seeds and sprouts? Or, because they are interdependent, do attachment and desire have things that are together, like bull's horns? There is no such uncertainty. There is no fault in what has been said, which means that the reasoning is not uncertain, which is the concluding word. Furthermore, regarding this, are attachment and desire considered together in the same entity, or are they considered together in different entities? And so on, the opponent will say, which are together? The attachment and desire that are said to be together, are they considered together in the same entity, or are they considered together in different entities? Both of these are unreasonable, it will be shown. For those, first of all, if it is thought that they are considered together in the same entity, that is also not possible, why? Because one is not together.
