Kana. So, if that's the case, even without desire, it would follow that it is attachment itself, which is not acceptable. If that's the case, another fault would also appear here, namely: having attachment would lead to having desire. This statement shows this: If the other party, according to their own idea, assumes that there is attachment before desire, then the so-called attachment, which is established as attachment itself by its own nature, relying on it, later the fault of having desire would occur. If it is already attachment, then it becomes meaningless to generate desire for it, because even without desire, it is already attachment itself from the beginning, then it becomes meaningless to generate desire for it, because the desire that arises later does not create any difference to the attachment that existed earlier. That is not allowed, this statement means that having attachment before the absence of desire contradicts all expressions, so it is not allowed. However, if it is made to become the attachment itself of desire, then it should not be admitted that there is attachment before desire. Like that, So, because there are words that can be refuted here, inference should be combined in this way by returning from the meaning of the middle: Because there are words that can be refuted, this statement means that if the other party, according to their own idea, assumes that there is attachment before desire, and relying on that attachment there is desire, then it becomes meaningless to generate desire for that attachment, because these are words that can be refuted. Returning from the meaning of the middle, then what is the meaning of the middle? It is the meaning of the middle of having words that can be refuted, namely: even without desire, it would follow that it is attachment itself. That is not acceptable, so by returning from that middle meaning, through the way of understanding other meanings, the combination of inference is done here, namely: before the absence of desire, even attachment itself does not exist, so relying on it, there is also no generation of desire later. If there is no desire, then there is also no display of afflictions and their faults, so the meaning of showing the other party's reason, namely the display of afflictions and faults, is shown to be unestablished. Attachment is desire

Because it does not arise without attachment, because it is dependent, like the nature of desire itself. These are the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma that establishes, and the example, to be applied in order. For example, the nature of desire depends on its own nature, and if there is no nature of desire, the nature of desire will not arise. Similarly, attachment also depends on desire. If there is no desire, attachment will not arise. Therefore, before there is no desire, there is no attachment itself, so relying on it, desire will not arise later. If there is no desire, there will be no afflictions and pointing out their faults. Therefore, the other party's reason "because it is afflictions and pointing out faults" is not established, so in the ultimate truth, aggregates, elements, and sources do not exist. Among the three aspects of examining desire, the first aspect, which is that attachment depends on the existence of desire before it, and that desire exists, has been proven to be unreasonable. Chapter Thirty-Six. Now, among the three aspects of examining desire, we will prove that the second aspect, which is that attachment depends on the existence of desire after it, and that desire exists, is unreasonable. Therefore, it is said here. In the definition of the Abhidharma, it says: "Pervasive, called one's own place. The previous pervasive of the afflicted." Because attachment itself is the cause of desire, there is no fault. Here, the previous proponents believe that attachment depends on the existence of desire after it, thereby establishing the existence of desire. They say that in the Abhidharma Treasury, the six causes are the co-emergent cause, the non-decaying cause, the similar cause, the pervasive cause, the ripening cause, and the acting cause. Among them, the pervasive cause is: "Pervasive, called one's own place. The previous pervasive of the afflicted." Therefore, the previously arising pervasive dharma of one's own place is the pervasive cause of the later afflicted dharma.
