is proven to exist. Because by relying on attachment without desire, later desire will arise. Therefore, since there is all-pervasive affliction and also its faults, do you think that the purpose of the reasoning that proves that your aggregates and so on are truly existent will be accomplished? If you think so, that is also not right. If attachment exists before desire, then that attachment cannot be without desire, but rather it will be attachment with desire. At that time, if it is attachment itself, then it is meaningless for desire to arise later relying on it, because desire will not arise relying on attachment, so desire will not arise. Therefore, since there is no desire, there is also no all-pervasive affliction, and there is also no fault of it, so it is shown that the purpose of the reasoning that proves that your aggregates and so on are truly existent will not be accomplished. Desire, attachment, and especially attachment are different names. "If there were something that does not have it and does not depend on desire," means: "If desire exists before, if there is attachment without desire," this is the explanation of the meaning of the words. The meaning of the word "desire" is the different names of desire, attachment, and especially attachment. The meaning of the words "If there is attachment without desire" is: "If there were an attachment without desire that does not have desire and does not depend on desire, that is, an attachment without desire." Here, the opponent's thought is that it is unreasonable for attachment to exist before desire, because there is a person who is not attached who will become attached later, and by relying on him, desire will exist later. In order to eliminate this thought, the explanation is made here, saying that just as it is unreasonable for a fruit to ripen without ripening, it is not said that attachment itself is unreasonable. Just as it is unreasonable for a fruit to ripen without ripening, this is an example of disagreement. Just as it is unreasonable for a fruit to ripen without ripening, it is not said that there is no attachment without desire. Just as it is unreasonable for a fruit to ripen without ripening, but there is a fruit that has not ripened, desire

It is unreasonable for attachment to arise without existence, because there is no state of non-attachment. Thus it is stated, according to the opponent's idea, if attachment exists before desire, then it is not non-attachment without desire, but attachment itself. Just as without ripeness there is no unripe fruit, although there is no unripe fruit, there is an unripe fruit. But here it is not so, for the attachment that exists before, it is not that without desire there is no attachment itself, but even without desire, it will still be attachment. At that time, if it is attachment itself, then it is meaningless for desire to arise later depending on it, because desire will not arise depending on attachment, so desire will not arise. Therefore, because there is no desire, there are also no afflictions, and there are no faults of it, so your argument that the aggregates and so on are truly existent, its meaning is not established. If asked what this examination will become? This is an examination according to the opponent's desired idea. If before desire, there is attachment without desire, then what will this become? This is the examination. Then what will this become? It will become that desire exists depending on it. To show this, attachment, desire exists depending on it, it will become that the desire of this attachment is this. Thus it is said, examining according to the opponent's desired idea. If before desire, there is attachment without desire, then what will this become? The attachment that exists before desire, desire exists depending on it, it will become that the desire of this previously existing attachment is this. Like this, when the giver produces attachment without attachment, it is called desire, if it is said that the desire of this non-attachment is this, then if it is thought that desire exists depending on attachment, then in that case, even without desire, it will still become attachment itself. Thus it is stated, attachment is impossible without desire, and desire is impossible without attachment, if it is thought that the state that has not become attachment before the absence of desire is attachment, then this should be recognized.
