has been established, that is to say, whatever reveals the nature of non-attachment, that is the Prajñāpāramitā. Similarly, in the Sutra Requested by the Noble Brahma Distinguished Mind, it says: I have shown the aggregates of the world, the world abides therein, the wise do not abide therein, the world is not stained by Dharma. The world is the nature of space, and space also has no nature. Therefore, by realizing that with that, the world is not stained by Dharma. The meaning of the scripture thus spoken has also been established, and the source of credible scripture has also established that all realms are emptiness. The meaning of those words is also as previously explained in the context of examining the birthplaces. The realms have no nature, and not abiding therein, not being stained by the dharmas of the world, that is the Prajñāpāramitā. The world is the nature of space, and space also has no nature. This has also been declared in the Sutra of the Ornament of Wisdom Light Entering the Realm of All Buddhas, that is, it has been declared that nature is without self-nature. The meaning of this scripture has also been established, and the source of credible scripture has also established that all realms are emptiness, and that is also the Prajñāpāramitā. Similarly, in the Bhagavati Mother Prajñāpāramitā Sutra itself, the Bhagavan previously said to Sharadvatiputra: Shariputra, all dharmas are the nature of non-attachment. To this, the Noble Shariputra wondered what the nature of non-attachment was and arose doubt. In order to dispel that doubt, the Bhagavan said: Sharadvatiputra, the non-nature and non-accomplishment of all dharmas is called non-attachment, and so on. All that has been said has been established. The meaning of those scriptures has been established, and with the source of credible scripture, the realms have been established as emptiness. This is the merit of the author showing the realms as emptiness. That is also the excellent wisdom of the teacher, therefore it is not merely with dry conceptualization that the realms are shown to be without self-nature, those scriptures also exist. The teacher well protected what was done with

The extensive commentary on the fifth chapter, the "Examination of Elements," from the commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the Lamp of Wisdom, is complete. This was composed by the teacher Avalokiteshvara Shanti Bhikshu. Now, in order to demonstrate the absence of inherent existence in attachment, clinging, hatred, aversion, and so forth, by refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness, the sixth chapter will be composed. The word "because" here should be understood as both the reason for making a commitment and in connection with the meaning that will emerge from the text below. Regarding the reason for making a commitment, it is said, "Now, by refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness," because when the treatise was composed, in the first chapter, "Examination of Conditions," it was committed that all phenomena are without arising. Therefore, here, when composing the sixth chapter, the commentator also speaks, taking into account the reason for making the commitment as the treatise was previously composed, saying, "Now, by refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness." Emptiness is one's own side. The opposing side is the side that refutes, such as those who assert that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases have inherent existence. The "distinctions" are the opponent's assertions that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases exist, and later it will be stated that, from the ultimate point of view, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases truly exist, because the Blessed One revealed afflictions and faults based on them. "Refuting them" means that the sixth chapter is connected to "will be composed" from the perspective of refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness. Thus, from the perspective of the reason for making a commitment, if the sixth chapter is composed by refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness, the desired purpose will be accomplished. From the perspective of connecting with the meaning that will emerge from the text below,
