When the world is neither existent nor non-existent, nor both existent and non-existent, the mind transforms, and one realizes selflessness. As it is said, when one sees objects such as form, which are neither truly existent, nor truly non-existent, nor both existent and non-existent, then there is no conceptual thought of inverted clinging, therefore the Alaya-vijnana transforms its position, and one realizes the very reality of what is called the selflessness of phenomena. Thus it is said. Therefore, merely refuting existence and non-existence is called the Middle Way, and there is nothing between the two. Similarly, in the chapter of Light Protector in the Great Treasure Trove Sutra, it says: Light Protector, the so-called existence is one extreme. The so-called non-existence is also one extreme. As it is said and so on, it also shows the source of the trustworthy scriptures. Here, the meaning of the well-discerned is that the elements such as earth are established to show their existence, because they are of the nature of reason. By pointing out the faults of such establishments, it is shown that the elements are empty of their own nature. This is the conclusion and the result of valid cognition. When examining the well-discerned elements, regarding the meaning of the well-discerned as the result of valid cognition, it is the prior establishment of those heretics to show that the elements are truly existent. In fact, the elements are only existent, because their nature exists. Such establishments, by pointing out the faults of their establishment, it is shown that the elements are empty of their own nature. In order to show what merit there is in showing that the elements are empty, and to dispel others who say that this showing that the elements are empty is only a dry speculative treatise, it should also be established here by the source of trustworthy scriptures. Therefore, in the Sutra Requested by Brahma Visesacitta, it says: What is the internal earth element, and what is the external earth element, this is the meaning of non-duality between the two. The Tathagata also knows with wisdom and knowledge, non-duality and non-difference, and one nature, this is the nature.

Therefore, the meaning of the statement "Enlightened perfectly and completely without existence" is established, and this reliable source also proves that the realms are emptiness. The meaning of its words is as explained earlier in the context of analyzing the sense bases. Whatever is impossible to ascertain, whether it is sameness or difference, that is Prajñāpāramitā. Similarly, in the Sutra of the Play of Mañjuśrī, it says: "Daughter, how should the realms be viewed?" The daughter said: "Mañjuśrī, it is like when the three thousand worlds are burned by the fire of the eon, even ashes do not exist." The meaning of this passage is also established, and this reliable source also proves that the realms are emptiness. The meaning of its words is also as explained earlier in the context of analyzing the sense bases, that is, whatever is impossible to ascertain anything in the internal and external realms, that is Prajñāpāramitā. Similarly, in other sutras, it says: "One should not be attached to what is formless, un-indicatable, without dwelling, without appearance, and without consciousness." The meaning of this passage is also established, and this reliable source also proves that the realms are emptiness. Among them, "formless" means non-form. "Un-indicatable" means impossible to indicate. "Without dwelling" means without body and abode. "Without appearance" means not appearing as an object. "Without consciousness" means that the discriminating consciousness of the eye, etc., cannot grasp it. That is, the meaning of one word explains another word, and one should not be attached to this truth that is the ultimate truth, and this is also Prajñāpāramitā. Similarly, in the Bhagavati Prajñāpāramitā Sutra, it says: "Son of Sharadvati, all dharmas are of the nature of non-attachment, and whatever dharma is the nature of something, that is its non-nature, therefore, no dharma abides closely in order to establish a nature." The meaning of this passage is also established, and this reliable source also proves that the realms are emp
