For those who are not skilled in the teachings, the master directly accuses them of not understanding the history of the Abhidharma, and in reality argues that space is real. Their words of argumentation are also organized in order according to the subject, the proposition to be proved, the means of proof, and the example. For example, form, yogis, with respect to the realm of form, completely transcend all concepts of form, obstructive concepts disappear, and without attending to various concepts, they think that space is infinite, thereby perfecting the sphere of infinite space and abiding in it. In this way, in order to abandon desire for that realm, form is real. Similarly, space is also, yogis, with respect to the realm of space, completely transcend the sphere of infinite space, thinking that consciousness is infinite, thereby perfecting the sphere of infinite consciousness and abiding in it. In this way, in order to abandon desire for that realm, space is also real. They say this, which is one kind of inference. Furthermore, for example, consciousness and so on, completely transcend the sphere of infinite space, thinking that consciousness is infinite, thereby perfecting the sphere of infinite consciousness and abiding in it. And, completely transcending the sphere of infinite consciousness, thinking that there is nothing at all, thereby perfecting the sphere of nothingness and abiding in it. And, completely transcending the sphere of nothingness, they perfect the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception and abide in it. In this way, because it is the object of meditative absorption, consciousness and so on are real. Similarly, space is also, completely transcending all concepts of form, obstructive concepts disappear, and without attending to various concepts, they think that space is infinite, thereby perfecting the sphere of infinite space and abiding in it. In this way, because it is the object of meditative absorption, space is also.

It is said, "Space is also a thing," and that is also a kind of inference. Furthermore, for example, Nirvana is unconditioned, therefore it is a thing, just as space is also unconditioned, therefore it is a thing, and that is also a kind of inference. In response to this statement, the commentator himself explains here: If one truly considers space to be a thing, then is it the basis of characteristics or the characteristic itself? How those bases of characteristics and characteristics are impossible has already been shown, therefore, because from our side, apart from the basis of characteristics and the characteristic itself, there is no thing. Therefore, it is impossible to establish what is to be established without giving an example. Having said this, to you who are particularly skilled in the history of the Abhidharma of the Vaibhashikas, listen together to a detailed study of the history of the Abhidharma. You Vaibhashikas, if you want to establish the tenet that truly considers space to be a thing, as the subject, if you want to establish that space is truly a thing, if you consider space to be truly a thing, then is it the basis of characteristics or a characteristic? How those bases of characteristics and characteristics are truly impossible has already been shown, therefore, because from our side, apart from the basis of characteristics and the characteristic itself, there is nothing, therefore, your subject, space, and the dharma you want to establish, the thing itself, are not established, so your tenet is defeated. Because the tenet is defeated in this way, therefore the reason and the example are also not established because the basis is not established, so they are not established on both sides. However, it should also be added that the examples you boastfully stated, "like form" and "like consciousness" etc., do not exist, and what you want to establish, "space is a thing," is not established. Why? Because from our side, truly your examples "like form" and "like consciousness" etc. are not established. If here truly form also consciousness

If these and so on are actually things, then are they also the basis of characteristics or a characteristic? If so, how can those bases of characteristics and characteristics not exist? As has been shown before, your examples are not established either. Therefore, without showing examples, it is impossible to accomplish what needs to be proven, so it is said. The reasons you arrogantly stated, "in order to abandon desire for that realm" and "because it is the object of meditative absorption," cannot be reasons for saying that space is a thing. Why? Because in the Abhidharma itself, the characteristics of desire and desire for existence are said to be names such as attachment, clinging, entanglement, and especially attachment. Among them, when the yogi abandons desire for the realm of form and enters into meditative absorption on the realm of space, he completely transcends all perceptions of form. The perceptions of obstruction disappear, and he does not attend to various perceptions, thinking, "Space is infinite," and thus perfects the sphere of infinite space and dwells there. When this is said, the yogi does not focus on the form that is the nature of color in any way, and therefore completely transcends the perceptions of form. Not focusing on the form that is the nature of shape, therefore the perceptions of obstruction disappear. Not focusing on the form that is the nature of clouds, smoke, dust, fog, shadows, the sun, light, darkness, color, shape, and both, therefore he does not attend to various perceptions. Therefore, he thinks, "Space is infinite," and thus perfects the sphere of infinite space and dwells there. At that time, although the yogi has desire for the realm of space, the desire for the realm of form will recede, so desire and form are not real things. When the yogi abandons desire for the realm of space and enters into meditative absorption on the realm of consciousness, he completely
