Then, if it is not so, what can be established? Therefore, just as children speculate about one and different, things are neither different entities nor exist outside of the collection. Thus it is said, this statement is established. As stated in the 'Holy Lankavatara Sutra,' this statement is established. Just as children, the Samkhyas, speculate as one, and children, the Vaisheshikas, speculate as different, things are neither one entity, nor do other entities established as substances exist outside the collection of causes and conditions, in any extreme of self and other's establishment. Therefore, in order to thoroughly establish the ayatanas in this way, summarized by a collection of reasons, the meaning of what is said is either unestablished or contradictory in meaning, which is the conclusion and the result of valid cognition. Without the cause of form, form will not become an object; without form, the cause of form will not appear. How is it measured by such reasoning? Therefore, previously one's own school said: From the ultimate truth, the ayatanas are existent, because they are encompassed by the aggregates. Here, whatever is non-existent is not encompassed by the aggregates such as form, like a flower in the sky. The internal ayatanas are encompassed by the aggregates, for example, the ten forms are encompassed by the form aggregate, the dharma-ayatana is encompassed by three aggregates and one part of the form aggregate, and the mind-ayatana is encompassed by the consciousness aggregate. By this reasoning, as stated, from the ultimate truth, the internal ayatanas are existent. If it is established from the ultimate truth, then it is unestablished; if it is established from the conventional truth, then it is contradictory in meaning. Without the cause of form, one cannot know that there is form, that is, the cause of the arising of form as a cause, such as earth, does not exist, and form as a cause does not exist. From the ultimate truth, form as a cause is existent, there is no reason to establish it, this is the concluding remark.

However, if one thinks, it means that even without the cause of form, such as earth, etc., one thinks that form exists. If one thinks like that, that is also not acceptable, because here the author of the treatise has refuted it. It is said: If there is no cause of form, then form will become causeless and become a fault. The cause of form refers to the cause of the existence of form. Because the intermediate word is not obvious, it is like the cause of fire. For example, the cause of fire does not mean that fire itself is the cause of fire, but the cause of the existence of fire is other things such as firewood. Because the intermediate word "existence" is not clearly stated, it is said to be the cause of fire. Similarly, the cause of form does not mean that form itself is the cause of form, but the cause of the existence of form is other things such as earth. Because the intermediate word "existence" is not clearly stated, it is said to be the cause of form. Without that means without the cause of form, meaning that there is no cause that shows the existence of form. It means that whatever cause is used to prove that form exists, that is gone. If form exists, it means that one merely establishes the proposition and thinks that such a form exists. It means that one merely establishes the proposition of no cause and thinks that such a form exists. Form will become causeless and become a fault, which means that there is no reason. If one thinks that there is no cause of form and form exists, then form will have the fault of having no reasonable cause. That is also not desirable, which means that becoming a proponent of causelessness is also not desirable. Like this, Buddhists also do not think that things are born from no cause, and worldly people also do not think that things are born from no cause. The fault of what has been said cannot be avoided, which means that the meaning of the reason for proving that form has a cause, whether it is unestablished or contradictory, exists as it is. Those who say causelessness, all things are causeless.

Because it is promised that it arises only from no cause. If it is said that the establishment of form is also the same as those, then those worldly materialists and others who assert no cause will say this: We have no fault in our promise. Like this, we promise that all things arise only from no cause, therefore the establishment of form arising from no cause is also the same as the establishment of other things arising from no cause, so for our side, there is no fault in what you say. They will say this. In order to answer what they said, here the commentator himself explains it. If someone is like what they said, then: If anything is allowed, then no thing, in any place, has no cause. Therefore, because there is no example, that statement is also not established. It is said like this. To what they said, it should be explained like this: If you say that because it is promised that all things arise only from no cause, therefore the establishment of form is also the same as those, if like what they said, there are some things that arise only from no cause, then the establishment of form arising from no cause, if anything is allowed, then any internal and external things that you exemplify, arising only from no cause, do not exist in one's own and others' tenets, and in heaven and on earth, therefore the assertion of no cause is also not established. I have already refuted those who assert no cause from the beginning, so that is not a thing. It means that if the side that asserts no cause really exists, then I must refute them here, but in the "Praise of Dependent Arising," I have already refuted those who assert no cause from the beginning with "Not from self, not from other, not from both, not from no cause, where is there a thing, where has it ever arisen, therefore there is no arising and ultimately no existence," therefore here the side that asserts no cause does not exist like a flower in the sky, therefore I do not need to refute those non-existent sides that assert no cause here, therefore here asserting no cause
