If it is said that since the vase is different from the cause of the lamp, then the reason of the Madhyamaka school becomes uncertain. In response to this, it is said below: Whatever things exist together, it is not appropriate for them to be different. Because there is no contradictory aspect, in ultimate truth, the vase is not different from the lamp, therefore it is not uncertain. After saying this, in order to emphasize the special proposition that 'it is not other than the parts of its own aggregate,' since the lamp is not a part of the vase's own aggregate, it is not only that the reason of the Madhyamaka school is not uncertain, but also, like this, it will also be said below in the section on examining encounters: Whatever things exist together, it is not appropriate for them to be different. Because there is no contradictory aspect, that is, the so-called otherness, it is also not uncertain. In ultimate truth, neither the lamp nor the vase is produced, so the vase is not different from the lamp, therefore it is also not uncertain. If it is said that because substances with parts, such as armies, have composition, the example of inferences that prove that earth and so on are not real is not established. This is because the opponents say that the example previously taken by the Madhyamaka school, that is, to prove that the elements such as earth and the forms derived from the elements are not real, and that the consciousness of form does not have real objects as its object, and that the meaning of the word 'form' does not have real objects as its object, the example taken from armies and so on is not established, this is a refutation. Because armies and forests and so on have parts, that is, they have horses and elephants and so on, and sandalwood and neem and so on, these are called substances with parts such as armies. Because they have compositional parts, that is, they have horses and elephants and so on, sandalwood and neem and so on, therefore substances with parts such as armies are real in ultimate truth. Therefore, the example taken from armies and so on by the Madhyamaka school to prove that the elements such as earth and the forms derived from the elements, and the consciousness of form and the sound of form are not real, is not established, they say.

In response to what was said, the commentator here states that the limbs of an army do not create the substance of an army, which is a whole with limbs, because they are limbs. For example, the limbs of a tree, such as roots, trunk, branches, and twigs, are like that. Having said this, here, any characteristic stated by those with reason is not established, and there is doubt. The proof must also rely on proof. Therefore, I should establish that previous example also by another proof, as shown. Those should also be arranged in order as the subject, the thing to be proven, the proving property, and the example. For example, the limbs of a tree, such as roots, trunk, branches, and twigs, are conventionally limbs, but ultimately, they do not create the substance of a whole with limbs called a tree. Similarly, the limbs of an army, such as horses and elephants, are conventionally limbs, but ultimately, they do not create the substance of a whole with limbs called an army, so the example is not unestablished. Alternatively, whatever limb is fully possessed by elephants does not create chariots, horses, etc., because it is not present in them, just like a heap of grain, so the example is not non-existent. Saying this is also another inference. Those should also be arranged in order as the subject, the thing to be proven, the proving property, and the example. For example, a heap of grain, etc., does not create chariots, horses, etc., because it is not present in chariots, horses, etc. Similarly, whatever limb of an elephant is fully possessed by elephants, such as the trunk and tusks, etc., does not create chariots, horses, etc., because they are not present in chariots, horses, etc., so my example is not non-existent. Similarly, without form, the cause of form is also not reasonable. Saying this, here too, as before, the thing to be proven and the proving property should be closely combined, and the inference should be extensively stated. Saying this is before, form
