It is said that there is a fault that the dharma to be established does not match the example. From the ultimate point of view, because fire does not exist, there is a problem that the subject of the example is not established. From the conventional point of view, eyes, etc., can grasp the object, form, etc., but the dharma to be established does not exist in the example of fire, so there is a fault that the example does not match the dharma to be established, so things are not established. Furthermore, self-nature and other things, apart from these, where do things exist? Things are not existent. The meaning of this sentence is to show the emphasis on the previous one. If something exists, then it must be either self-nature or other things. Therefore, if self-nature and other things exist, things will be established, but if self-nature does not exist, and other things do not exist, then things other than self-nature and other things are unspeakable, and how can that unique thing that is neither self-nature nor other things exist? Therefore, the meaning of the other party's reason is not established. In order to show the detailed explanation of that, why? Cause and condition

I say, where is there a substance other than other substances? Saying that substance does not exist will cause harm, therefore they say that non-existence exists. Or, substance exists because there are incompatible aspects, for example, just as the existence of a crow implies the existence of an owl. These are other valid means by which the opponents prove that non-existence exists. These are, in order: the subject and the dharma to be proven, the proving dharma, and the example. For example, a crow is an incompatible aspect of an owl, because the existence of a crow implies the existence of an owl, similarly, the incompatible aspect of non-existence is also existence, because existence exists, therefore non-existence also does not exist. In response to what they say, the commentary itself states here: Because true arising is prevented, if substance is not established, non-substance will not be established, because by preventing substance, it is said to be non-substance. It means that if substance exists, then preventing it will say non-substance, therefore non-substance will also be established. If substance itself is not completely established, non-substance will not be established, thus it is shown. Since non-substance is not spoken of, there is no fault of violating the commitment, and it is not that the meaning of the reason is not established. That is, the Madhyamikas do not speak of non-substance, therefore it is said below: Those who view substance, other-substance, substance and non-substance, they have not truly seen the Buddha's teachings. Therefore, there is no fault of violating the commitment. Here, it is said: Where is there substance other than own-nature and other-substance? Because it is said that substance is not established, therefore non-substance will not be established either, thus the meaning of the reason for proving is not established. Or, the transformation of substance into other, people say is non-substance. This says: If substance is not established, non-substance will not be established. This shows the aspiration of the reason. Like this, whatever substance transforms into other, people say is non-substance, then that substance also does not exist.

If that does not exist, to what will the non-existence of things belong? If the non-existence of things does not exist, then your contradictory aspect of that, how can things be established? Even if things do not exist, the contradictory aspect of that, the non-existence of things will not be established. To show that, because things do not exist, that also does not exist, therefore this reason is either non-common or contradictory in meaning. There is also no example, because in the ultimate truth, the existence of crows and owls is not known. Having said this, because things do not exist, the non-existence of things also does not exist, because the opponent's reason has a contradictory aspect, if it is to be established in the ultimate truth, then it is non-common, therefore it is not established, because things also have no contradictory aspect, and the non-existence of things also has no contradictory aspect. If it is established in the conventional truth, then it is contradictory in meaning, because in the conventional truth, with the reason of the existence of contradictory aspects, it cannot be established in the ultimate truth that it exists. The opponent's example is like crows exist, so owls exist, that is also not established, because in the ultimate truth, those existences are not known. Thus, for the time being, they have shown that the dependent origination spoken of in the Prajnaparamita, the things of self and others, things and the non-existence of things, having the difference of emptiness, is established. Here, if the opponent says, liberation will be attained by seeing only this, and this only, refers to that thing, which is the nature of things. To this, if the nature of things does not exist, then for you, seeing only that is unreasonable, and if seeing only that does not exist, then how will liberation be established? Therefore, the view that things have no nature is not good. In order to answer this previous view raised from the heart, here is an explanation, we are because the sun of dependent origination rises and the nature of things that appear does not exist, seeing as it is, therefore we ourselves have only seen that, we
